Southern California Just got tickets for Jay Leno! Any advice?

Have you ever had the chance to see this show live?

DH sent a request for Leno tickets while we will be in Southern California this month. We really forgot all about it until today when we received a self addressed envelope in the mail with 3 tickets. It will be a blast and DS 17 is thrilled. Any suggestions on how early to get there (it is suggested at 3pm), how to get in those front sections of seats, is it freezing like David Letterman's theater, etc?

Who is going to be on? If they are very, very popular I suggest getting there earlier then 3pm otherwise I think 3pm is probably fine. But what do I know we got there 12 hours early when we went but we were there specifically for one of the performers.

Honestly getting the front seats is totally the luck of the draw but there is no bad seats in the theater.

Most studio taping are a little chilly so I suggest light sweater in case.

One other thing head over a little early and go next door they have a great tour of the studios for free.

Keep your eyes peeled on the streets. Right in front of the studio is prime movie-star watching territory. If you think that's George Clooney, it probably is.

I agree with the other person who said to mind who is on the show. If it is anyone major, line up earlier.

I know for the Price is Right tapings, they say to get there at 7 am. No way, people are there at 4 am.

I hope this isn't too late! We live down the street from where the Tonight Show is taped and the lines can get very long, very early so I would suggest being there early in the morning (unless your tickets say "guaranteed entrance."). The tickets are given out at 8:00 am and most people get in line then.

Not everyone who has a ticket gets into the show, unfortunately.

And it's really not that cold inside - although now that it is summer, they may crank up the air conditioning!

You can always try. You can also get tickets the day of the show if you are there by 8:00 am (but you will have to wait in line pretty much the rest of the day).

They also give away tickets at Universal Studios - if you can get there before they are gone.

I think that tickets mailed out-of-state are guaranteed seating and as long as you get there at 3pm, you're in. The tickets given out locally at 8am are first-come first served and the later arrivals don't get in.

tvtix.com sometimes as Leno tickets about a week ahead of time and they are guaranteed seats.

We went last year, we got our tickets from Universal Studios. While on the tour of Universal we were told that we could get tickets from a booth, we went to Universal on Monday and the tickets for the show were for Wednesday, these tickets are guaranteed which means you get in before the long line up gets in.

They told us they provide more tickets than seats, so if you don't have guaranteed tickets you should line up quite early at least 12:00.

My dd was 17 and ds was 16 at the time, we all had a great time. I agree it does get a little cold in the studio so bring a sweater.
