I have just been and bought the 2007 Unoffical guide and the Unofficial Guide to WDW with Kids, both look great I just need to find time to read them now!

For those who have these books have you found them useful when planning or being on your trip? What was the best feature?

Had the unofficial guide for 2006 and read it cover to cover and also the Brits Guide. Can't really say what I found most valuable about them, just the overall information you can get. Although it was the books that pointed me in the direction of the resort we have chosen (YC). Have to say though, I don't think I will buy another book, you can just get all the info off here don't you think?

We have found that the touring plans work really well for 2 reasons.

1 It cuts down on queuing
2 It saves arguing with the kids about what to do next. It becomes a game trying to find the next step on the plan and them working out where we are going.

I like the UOG for its ireverent humour. I enjoy reading all the bumf but rarely follow plans (it's the rebellious streak in me ;) )

Unofficial Guides are my favourite guidebook. I love how honest they are, they tell you everything warts and all. I really like the touring plans, they really do work.

Don't forget they have a website www.touringplans.com where you can check for updates from the book which is especially helpful for best days info. :)

Wendy - I think you can get most info off the DIS and it's always better to get first hand experience from people on here, but I like that I have the book for reference now and I enjoy reading stuff like that anyway so I think they are great!

I have nearly read all through the Kids book now, and I am just about to start the big guide! Woo Hoo! :woohoo:

I love the UG! It's the book we bought for our first ever WDW trip - and I buy the newest edition every time we go!

I know I can get a lot of the info here on the DIS - and I do... but for some reason I just love reading it again and again!

I just signed up for the touring plans site with a code from the allears newsletter... cost me £3 something... and I can print off the touring plans for my particular days in the parks with the opening hours and show times on them :)

Should be brilliant books! I still have mine from 2001 and have adapted them over the last few trips :thumbsup2 Very informative and helpful right down to where to take the little'uns when they don't want to do the nap thing!! Enjoy reading them and use the guides at the back :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

It was last published in 2006, very useful though as it's only about a quarter of an inch thick so you could easily stick it in your bag and carry it around where as I don't think I would want to do that with the main book as its rather heavy and bulky.

Great books though and a real joy to read - especially to get your fix!! :thumbsup2
