We have an alert text messaging system in the District for which I work. It's official for tomorrow--SNOW DAY!:thumbsup2 (Now wouldn't it be funny if we woke up to no snow:scared1:)

They closed schools for us earlier today. I was thinking the same thing about what if it doesn't snow. I think it was last year, they closed the schools and it didn't snow at all

That happens all the time in North Carolina :rotfl2: We call it "We're Southerners and we freak out when they say snow" Day!

That happened to us last year. Supposed to be an awful storm ... they cx school around the time of the 11pm news ... kids didn't know but I did! Next morning ... nothing (but the kids were happy!) ... fast forward to noontime ... nothing .. it started snowing at 2:00 pm and the kids would've gotten out at 2:15 pm. Barely even coming down! Only got a couple inches total that storm, it stayed south of us. What a waste of a snow day! And of course - I had to go to work! They called me at work .. all .. day .. long. I would've been better off just calling out! :lmao:

Man, you guys are lucky!

I remember getting up a couple of times with snow everywhere and going to check the TV (our school district has a TV channel) and nope, we still had school. Then I'd get ready, re-check and it would be cancelled. They take their time around here.

I'm pretty sure we have the worst guy in charge of cancellations for our college, too. There are three colleges in this local area- two of the three cancelled all PM classes. Not ours! DH is in class right now. :-/

We get a call around 5 am telling us that there is a 2 hour delay. Then if the weather is bad enough, we'll get anther call around 7 (because you've just gone back to sleep) telling us that school is cancelled! It's very rare for our county to cancel the school the night before. Enjoy your snow day!!:goodvibes
