Just got the strangest phone call about chess

It was a woman's recorded voice telling me about how wonderful it was to play chess and all of it's benefits. Then she said thank you for listening and it disconnected. No sales pitch, nothing.

Very odd!

Anyone else ever get this? I was wondering if it had subliminal messages in it or something!

No, but my husband got a message on his cell phone that said, "When you're tall, people respect-respect you more." (he kind of stumbled over the word "respect.") It popped up on his cell phone as "call" or "no number" instead of with a phone # (a sure sign that it was a call from a solicitor). We are still puzzling over this one!

Very funny! Luckily my DH is 5'11" so didn't take it personally!

My wife used to get a similar call at her office each day. This person would say the same three or four sentences each day and then after a moment they'd hang up. After a few months my wife actually got this person to speak with her briefly -- the person suffered from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and truly felt they needed to make this call or something bad would happen to them...
