Just got the new DCL video

Yes, I'll admit it....I still order the new video every year, even after 27 (soon to be 28) Disney cruises. We just watched it, and of course that "Across the sea..." song is running through my head once again. I was a bit dissapointed, as Cruise Director Rick wasn't in it (I think he is in the older ones, although I could be thinking of the bus video or the one they show in the staterooms...it all runs together after a while). They seemed to emphasize the adult areas a bit more, which I liked...it's always great to see the Rainforest. But the animated birds and dolphins were a bit disconcerting. That's definitely new, and I don't think they're needed...they distract from the footage of what I want to see: the ship and Castaway Cay!! Oh well, at least I got my fix...it's one whole long week till we're on the Magic.

Yep, Barb & Tony are breaking from their normal pattern of taking 3-night cruises! They're sailing on the 1/4 7-night Western.

Barb - I <I>totally</I> agree with you about the animated birds and dolphins in the new video. I was shocked to see that! I thought the intro in the previous video was much better. My mom watched this one before our cruise last month and immediately asked, "<I>Is this a cartoon video</I>?" when it first started.

It's kind of cute! I like it, but it does distract the eye a bit.
