Just got sent a RO code, however....

Im already booked, have paid for the QSDP....FD would be a better win for us. But Im wondering if maybe I should take the RO discount while it's available and then IF FD comes out for my dates, switch it again?? Seems like a pain. What would YOU do?

I'd book with the RO now, and if they put out a FD offer, ask a CM to see which saves you more money, and go with that.

Any discount is better than no discount.

Since you already have a package, I would modify that package to include the discount on the room rate. If a FD offer comes along that is better for you, I would then modify the package again. What if no FD offer comes along - how disappointed will you be that you didn't take advantage of the room discount?

I've never been a gambling woman but I didnt take the bait--I called about the pin they sent me and OH WHAT A SHAME-" that pin is NOT available under your present room catagory" OK, so she quotes it under another room catagory and it seems the pin WILL work if I take a royal room (at POR) well that would put me away from the rest of the family thats going as well under their own package.

Theyd be in a different building , as these "royal rooms" are not only more $$ but they are in only 2 buildings in the resort. blah-blah-blah, it ended up being $100 savings....so I told her not to change anything, we really want to keep the fam in the same area. I will take my chances with possible FD.

My head is spinning already and I have a 6 month wait!

If you have already paid up on the package -- you said you've "paid for the QSDP" -- then tweaking the ressies probly is more of a pain. I never pay it off in full until the last day.
Anywho, I'm definitely in the change camp. Change existing ressie now to use the RO discount offer while it's still good. When FD comes out, convert to FD -- and if no FD, you still get RO savings.
To me, the savings is definitely worth the hassle of changes. For the last three years, for various reasons, I've both modified original ressie AND later converted to FD. Once, with an amazing PIN, we saved 75% overall! The bother pays off in pixie dust.
