Hi as the tittle says I got out of surgery yesterday.Heres what hapened,
7:00-Me and my mom get into the car we head of to the 'the place' (the place is well the place where I got my surgery done )My mom's glass on her car is so fogged-up that she can barly(sp?)see anything out of them.Well finaly we get there.
7:30-I get called back into the first room I have to put on this ugly smauk thing on and a blue nurse hat thing on too. Then a nurse calls me back into a surgical room.
7:45-she sticks the IV into my arm, then she sticks some heart things on me and the IV bubbles up and pops out of my arm! It hurt! Then she puts the second one in.she says that she is going to start the medicine so I go to sleep this time (In a different place they stuck the IV in five times one of those times they lost the needle in my arm.)I see the line of surgins come in then everything goes dark.
9:00-I open up my eyes and everthing is light agin then the same nurse comes in takes my hand I try to stand but I fall over and smack my head on the wheel chair I balance myself out on one of the handles, sit down on the chair then I'm wheeled through the building to yet another room.I wait there for a while nurses come to talk to me.after a while my mom comes in and I try to stand and the nurse from before rushes in and takes my hand and helps me through a hallway and out a door and opens the door of my mom's car and helps me in.
11:00-I sat on the couch,my mouth was full of gase (to soak up some of the blood)my mom asks me if I would like a milk shake and of corse I say yes!
12:30 -I eat som mac and cheese
1:00- look in the mirror and count the stiches (six)
1:05-4:30-I watch tv with a ice-pac over my mouth
5:00-I eat supper
5:30-12:00- I watch tv
12:00-7:30- I sleep
well anyway you get the picture,What happened to you in your latest surgery?

Last time I had surgery I was in 3rd grade and I got my tonsil taken out.
We went in I was a cry baby back then and I cried the whole time.
I sat in the kids waiting room they gave me some medicine and I was out in 5 minutes. They then put me in a wagon [I was told most of this by my mom since I was asleep] Took me to the surgery room and had surgery.
Then I woke up they took the IV they put in while I was asleep out and it hurt, and I got a blue's clue band-aid! :D

And while we left all the kids who had surgery got these beanie babies and I guess I picked out a snake, and I'm looking at it right now it's still on my room on a shelf :D
[I really wanted the octopus but I was too drowsy they kinda picked it out. -pout-]

And I came home and threw up since my throat was like all scabbed up or something.
And I could barely eat.
But after a week I was ok! :D

wow, im surprised you remember all that. all I remember was crying when I got there because I am terrified of hospitals and I had to stay there over night after the surgery. then getting into the gown and sitting on the bed. she put the IV in and flushed everything out then the IV got cloged with my blood so she had to flush it out again and then the blood got in it again and she had to flush it out again(which burns alot!) and then I met my anistesiologist and then the original nurse came in to give me some medicine that was going to make me a little loopy so I wouldn't feel anything and I don't remember anything after that medicine started working, I don't even remember leaving the room, and I don't remember getting the anestisea(sp?) but apparently I was awake when they took me out of the room to give me the anestisea. the next thing I remember is slowly waking up in the recovory room and seeing some lady and then getting wheeled out on the bed and then stopping to get my mom, then I don't remember anything until we get into the room I don't even remember going up to the 5th floor. then I got better but I couldn't feel anything cuz he numbed around where he did the surgery. I stayed there over night and no one though I would be able to walk(I had surgery on my back) but I could walk fine, cuz I wasn't feeling anything, so I had to wait for someone to come and help me with the dressing that was on it and tell my mom how to do it too and then I walked out of the hospital, cuz it hurt to sit. and that was at the end of June.

about five weeks ago.

it wasn't bad at all.
except for they pricked my arms like five times before i actually went to sleep.
and then i woke up with the big bandage around my knee.
and then when i finally took it off i almost barfed. i hate stitches.
but all in all, it was pretty easy.

It seems most people throw up after getting their tonsils out. My friend was sick, and she only remembers it because she vomitted the purple medecine she took xD

Last time I had surgery, it was a root canal. I've never had anything serious done to me.

Yeah they told me I would throw up. I didn't think it would be so bad...I was wrong.
My throat was all scabbed up or something so I was throwing up skin? Scabs or something. Ewww. :crazy2: :scared:

Last surgery I had were stitches on my arm in 4th grade. It was done by a dermatologist because he had to remove a blister-type....thing (sorry for the description ;)) He made a mistake somewhere, and 4 years later, the stitches are still visible. There is a white bump about half the size of my thumb...protruding out of my arm and you can still count the stitches....I'm really upset because I can't fix it...
Before that I've had stitches on my lips (all you see is a very tiny white line at the corner of my mouth) and on my right leg from falling off the top of a swing set (I was six...don't ask)

In 8th grade is had a Bronc done(to check my lungs for anything since i have asthma). I remember going to the hospital, and getting into my room. Then I remember the sleeping doctor(that's what i called it) coming in and talking to me. Then my asthma doctor coming in and talking to my mom. Then I remember the nurse coming and and putting the IV in(i am used to them since i am in and out of the hospital alot). She missed the first time and i had a big bruise on my hand. After that, they wheeled me into the room and put me to sleep. I was bawling my eyes out. I felt so sick at the time from the medication. Then the next thing I remember was waking upo bawling my eyes out in my room and just wanting to go home. I stood up and got really dizzy and threw up everywhere. Then I got to go home.

I've only had surgery done to me once, thank God. It was last year (almost a year now! On Sept. 17th), it was my mom's birthday. That's the intro :) Haha.

So my parents went to their first Broadway show, Tarzan. My brother and I spent the day at my aunt's house with my cousin. We chilled all was good. We got picked up around 6 or 7. We get home then around 8 I have REALLY REALLY BAD pains in my right side. I call my parents on my cell from my room, they tell me to go to my dad's medicine cabinet and take some medicine. While I'm walking over there everything becomes blurry. I make it, then go back to my room. It just got like so much worse so I called my parents again, they come up and decide we should go to the hospital.

8:45 p.m - We get to the hospital and we check in. They do their little pre-whatevers and we go sit down. Now my dad has been to this hospital millions of times and the nurses know him so we usually get back pretty fast. But we had to wait. I was laying on my mom's lap and I couldn't feel my arm and I was pale. Well they call us back and I get changed into a gown and yada yada. But what was weird was I didn't feel pain anymore. But I never said anything just to be sure.

9:10 p.m. - Nurse comes in. I get my IV and I answer really weird questions. They give the thing to put my pee in. (I know TMI but had to include it in the story! Haha)
9:30 p.m. - They come in and take my blood from the IV.
9:40 p.m. - They give me this nasty tasting stuff I need to drink for my cat scan.
12:00 a.m. - I get woken up to get my cat scan done.
12:45 a.m. - Doctor comes in and says they need to send the stuff to Australia (HUH?!) to get the results.
4:15 a.m. - Yep, my appendix needs to be removed. Oh goodie.
4:30 a.m. - They roll me up to the Pediactric unit. Since I was the oldest I got my own personal room :teeth: Yay. My brother and dad go home, my mom stays with me through the night.
9:00 a.m. - Time for surgery. I get my happy gas (oh man that's a funny picture my dad took haha) and I get to sleep. Apparently I talked to the guy nurse about him dancing with wooden tap shoes. Who new?!
I don't remember what time - I'm done. And out of it as ever. My throat KILLED from the tube they put down it. My mom was feeding me a grape popcicle and I kept asking "When did I ask for a popcicle?" over and over again.

I stayed in the hospital that day, left the next to go home and relax. Then back to school again. My school was worried that I wasn't well enough but I was fine. I got lots of presents and visitors at the hospital :) Haha.

Sorry for the uber long post, I got into the story Haha.

The last surgery I had was on my knee. I was in pain for a looooong time after that. lol That was about 2.5 years ago.

3rd Grade, over the 2-week fall break. I had to get my tonsils taken out. I was brave about it until the doctor was handing me some medicine I had to take before the anesthesia, and I threw a tantrum. I didn't want to do it; I flipped. My dad tricked me, saying that if I took the medicine, we'd discuss going home. Being 8, I agreed, and the last thing I remember before the surgery was drinking the little cup of medicine, and then sitting down and watching cartoons.

July 11th and July 12th.

July 11th - That was the biopsy on my tumour. I remember getting to the hospital around 6am. Got changed into litterally a gown and nothing else (Sorry,TMI,and it was verrry uncomfortable). Got in the elevator, got the IV in my hand, and started bawling. Just totally freaking out completely. Got into the OR, remembered it was verrrry cold, had the nurses put that mask over my face. The last thing I remember was saying "That stuff smellllllllllllllllllllsssssss...." ,and then I woke up in the Rec. Room and waited for about 2 hours for a room. The pain was baaaad. The needle went ALL THE WAY DOWN into my bone, yikes!

July 12th - That was around 10am,I was told I was going for an EKG,no big deal. Until I got into the room and the doctor explained to me what a Portacath is. (Look it up,you don't want one.) So I start bawling because the surgery was completely unexpected, and I was rolled into the OR crying. Heck,I didn't stop crying when they pumped the happy juice in me. And to top it off,THEY DIDN'T NUMB ME UP ALL THE WAY! I could hear everything they were saying and felt what they were doing. It's just sooo lovely to hear the doctor say 'We're gonna cut here, and you're gonna feel a sharp burn." YIKES!

MY next surgery is in about a month, and that's when they actually cut out my bone.
OH JOY!
not.

I've never had surgery. I broke 2 bones but that was it, unless you call getting a cast surgery.

between sixth and seventh grade. I had to get 87 stitches on my stomach and upper left thigh.

Shelby, OW! Do you mind me asking what happened?
I've never gotten surgery

And sorry, you put gase, did you mean gauze? The white tissue kinda stuff?
