Hey all....just received our cabin assignment for our 5/10 cruise...a little background.....we were part of the cancelled cruise sailing on 11/30 of last year due to illness....rebooked for 11/29 of this year but in January we decided we just could not wait for a year to cruise...so we changed it to May....got a GTY cabin...we were willing to wait until we sailed to get a cabin...we were guaranteed a category 6....but today I checked my reservation on the web site and found out we were assigned 8598....last cabin in the back of the ship on deck 8....we are very happy that we were upgraded to a category 4.....but we have never stayed on deck 8 and have never stayed in the last cabin....anyone stayed in this cabin? Will we be happy there? Please be honest....like I said we are happy....but we need your imput....
Thanks....
Tom

Deck 8 is great, and being in the back is good, too. You are close to the aft elevators, which are much less crowded than the mid-ship, and you can walk right up the stairs to the buffet, and to the deck parties. You will have some noise in the mornings with the chairs being moved around, but after the 1st morning and we realized what the noise was, it didn't bother us again. It was just a little startling the first morning not knowing what that noise was. As far as ship movement, after we crossed the gulf stream (which was about dinner time) we didn't feel anything disturbing. In fact, once we were off the ship, I missed the gentle rocking motion.....I loved falling asleep to it. It is also a lot quieter at the very back of the ship, as far as hallway traffic is concerned.
You will definitely enjoy the larger room, and we got lucky on our last cruise, we were on the same side of the ship as your room, and the views were great....we looked out over Castaway Cay, and toward Paradise Island and the ocean when we were docked in Nassau. I think you'll love it! :D :D

I completely agree with justmestace's post. We stayed in cabin 8602 which is also far aft. We loved the location. It was very quiet with no hallway noise. We also heard the chairs in the morning, but it didn't really bother us even my DD who is a light sleeper. Have a wonderful cruise!
