Guys...

Prices already posted, but will post anyway - $112/point with a $5 discount pp with a minimum of 100 pts purchased.

Resort to open on Sept 1, 2009 and BLT members will be able to book beginning Mar 1, 2009 all other owners on Mar 15, 2009. Now my rep says that if you are not a member, you will not get in the resort when it opens. Don't know if that was a sales pitch or in fact a reality since the price is opening significantly lower than some had projected (up to $180/pt).

There is a club lounge on the top of the resort which will hold about 70 people and for now, it will only be available to those staying at BLT.

No developer points.

Member dues are $3.67/pt.

Sales don't officially begin until Sunday.

I'm the first to be sold points from my rep, who said I beat him to selling himself points. I caught him on the phone this morning as he walked back into his office after their morning meeting about sales for BLT.

There will be a marble tile behind the lobby facing Bay Lake which will have the 1st 1000 families names on it who purchase a minimum of 160pts.

Rooms views:
Magic Kingdom view is 20% of the rooms
Bay Lake view is 69% of the rooms
Standard view is 11%

Point calculators are available and point charts will be in the mail shortly.

Rep says they expect BLT to sell faster than Beach Club.

I'm so excited!!!:cool1:  :yay:

Now, I just need a BLT logo for my sig...

We just bought too - not the first sale for our guide but close to it. How many points did you get? We went crazy with 300.

So, what will the process be. Did you give deposit at this point and how much, when will the balance be due, etc.

Also, was there mention as to when the models will be open?

Gave cc info for deposit which will not be billed until Sunday. Payments start in about 45 days at 10.75% APR through Disney.

Didn't inquire about models since I currently don't plan on being back at WDW this year. I suspect they will begin showing models on Sunday since they will officially begin sales then.

Models will be at SSR (sunday I'm guessing). We're going down in Oct so we'll check out the BLT models as well as our AKV model. Not sure when we're ever going to stay at AKV (maybe next xmas or winter 2010 lol) since we'll use our BLT points next fall. I love how low MF's are, $3.68 I think, and that I won't be paying those until Dec 09.

Aren't dues pretty high???? Is there a chart some where that lists the dues for each resort?? thanks

I don't have the dues chart but AKV is $4.8x My guide said part of the cheaper cost is because some of infratstructure was already there since the north wing had previously been on that site.

Not sure about a chart, but I know I pay more than that for my BCV, though not exactly sure how much off the top of my head.

Start low... raise 'em up.

Don't buy because MFs are "lower" Buy because you want to stay there. Fees WILL go up....

yeah that is true about them going up. I didn't realize that BLT was lower than BCV.

Wow--only 20% of the rooms are MK view....I would have thought a higher percentage. This will be similar to the breakdown at BWV then.

Agreed. MFs should never be a selling point and they will always go up.

Interesting split. There has to be bay lake views on both the outside and the inside of the "C". Wonder where the 11% standard view are?

I'm guessing lower floors facing the Contemporary or parking lot.

If you only own 100 points at BLT, does that mean that you can only book a 100 point or less stay at BLT at the 11 month window?

DVC usually subsidizes part of the dues at first because all units are not sold. I'd like to see some figures on how they can operate this resort over 25% cheaper than the other "hotel like" resorts. Actually 37% less than BWV. Does it have to do with the points being more per room?

Does the 100 pt minimum include first time buyers, or only current owners? My sis is interested in joining and would jump on this.

Correct, but you can borrow your 2010 points and book 200. After that you can also borrow and have 300. For example: In 2011 you book using 100 banked 2010 points and borrow 2012 points.

Hi all!

I have a couple of questions:

We're not currently DVC owners but will be pulling the trigger as soon as they put BLT on sale to the public. I'm trying to figure out WHEN we would be able to use our points, i.e. the soonest we could use them at ANY location. It's my interpretation of the above to mean that we can book BLT starting on 3/1/09...but can we book elsewhere prior to that?

Part of our justification for buying into DVC is that we could use the points for our annual June trip in '09...but if we can't book ANYWHERE until March 1, it may be a deal breaker.

Also, I was wondering about use year. I teach, so we typically vacation in June, but have also gone for weekends in October and December. Can anyone tell me what our best option would be as far as use year is concerned? We have never cancelled or even really changed dates, so I'm not sure that is even a concern as much as the booking window might be...

Last thing: if we are borrowing points from the next year, we can't book "on spec" before actually having made the transfer, correct? In other words, we must actually have the required points in our account to book a ressie, and can't book even though we *would* have the needed points by our arrival date. Do I have that right?

Many thanks to all you helpful folks---I know I'll get the answers I need, and thanks in advance for your assistance!!!

Best Regards,

Scott in MO
