Just got off the phone with Maggie. .

. . and she is home and groggy, but okay.

Unfortunately the procedure did not go smoothly; her blood pressure started to drop when they administered the anesthesia, and while it put her under a little, and they did a local , she was awake for everything and it was an extremely painful ordeal. . And they could not get the job done with the ultrasound, so they took her from that room into the CT scan room, and then finally got it aspirated. . .

They now have to test the fluid they removed. The radiologist who did the procedure said just judging from the appearance of it, his guess was that it’s “more likely then not benign, ” but we won’t get the official results back until Tuesday. In the meantime she goes into to see the surgeon tomorrow morning to discuss the hernia.. .

I’m sure the doctors are doing the best they can, and I’m glad this part of it over for her, but right now I just can’t believe they went forward with things and put her through that much pain. . But it’s over, she’s home, and now we just have to wait for the results. .

Thank you all again for the good thoughts and prayers; it was rough afternoon for her, but she made it through okay. . she’s resting now, but she said she might feel up to checking in and saying hi later this evening. .
