Just got my VITA packet, wow!

I signed up to participate in the volunteer VITA program at the school (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) and picked up my packet today. Talk about huge! The manual is bigger than a textbook.

I am an accounting major though and love learning about taxes so I think this will be a good learning experience.

Don't worry -- the majority of it is for reference purposes. You're not going to be expected to memorize it. In fact, the majority of returns you'll likely do for VITA are pretty standard, straightforward 1040's.

ETA: You're right, though, it will be a great learning experience and it's a great thing to volunteer for.
