just got my Power Sort Boxes!

I got my power sort box two weeks ago and got all my pictures sorted in it - it's so much easier now to get a page or two done since I don't have to make sure I'm not "missing" any pictures that might be hiding in a bag or box somewhere. When I went to a crop this week I just grabbed a section and went - love it! PLUS it holds 2400 photos! When my CMC consultant told me about it I thought it was a waste but then I got it free since I had a $500 class in September, so I figured Free might as well try it and now I can't say enough good things about it! I'm excited to go to her Power Layout class next month - another thing I thought was a waste...

Jennifer - Going from Power Sort to Power Layouts will be SOOO easy for you. I LOVE Power Layouts. Plus, you can take a page frm the box to the book in less than 10 minutes. So, you can make the most of just a few spare minutes! Have fun!!

I was very skeptical when my CMC told me about it. Like so what....just another box....no biggie.....But holy cow the thing is great!!! I have 7 albums going at once and had piles of pictures on top of albums, sitting on shelves. Imagine a strong summer wind blowing through the window.....ouch! So I ordered it and I am putting the pics into their own little files and loving it. This weekend is a all day crop for me and I just took out two of my files along with an empty one that I placed my stickers in and popped them into the mini and i am set to go.

I always power layout when going to an all day crop.....do you ladies think the lay out box is worth it? I use a pizza box and as I said only do it when I am going to a long crop. Let me know what you think.

I just got mine - I was kind of disappointed with it - I know, I am in the minority - But I ordered it without seeing it (looked on the web) - I thought it would have a handle and securely close for when you want to bring it to a crop - I will use it and it will keep me organized! It is a great idea and I do like it - Just wish it was made of more durable material and that it would be easier to transport -

kaitlinsmom - The theory is that you get teh MinI Box that wil hold 3 of teh dividers (600 photos) and take that to a crop. That's much easier to carry.

goofymom/pop - I love the power layouts box. 1. It is photo safe. If you only have them in teh box a day, that's ok, but for longer... 2. the guides that come with it have outlines for all 3 of the pages sizes to make laying out your photos easier. JMHO

Big box w/ 12 removable compartments and 12 dividers - $35

Mini Box w/3 removable compartments and 6 dividers - $11

Many CMCs offer a workshop to help you through it.

Also, if you use the consultant locator feature, you can go to their website, which will have prices for you.

My SIL is a consultant actually - well, she places a $500 order every 3 mos. to stay in CM. Anyway, she was taking to long to answer my email about the pricing, so I knew I could find out here first!

Well, in my SIL's defense, she is at her real job and probably isn't reading my email until tonight. I am very impatient!

She has only remained a consultant for the last couple years just so she can earn free supplies - kind of pays for her "habit." This is her final order, so I better get my things in, huh?

Any suggestions for how many extra dividers to order? I have a TON of pics to sort and I am going to buy both power sort boxes.

I've been told dividers go like hot cakes. If you fill your box (2400 photos) and you have 12 compartments, of two hundred photos each, Train A will cross Train B somewhere around Frontier Land. Sorry, I'm working on very little sleep.

I'd go with at least 2 extra packs. 3 extra packs would divide things every 50 photos.

Sorry to imply that your SIL is slow, I didn't realize that you only e-mailed her today! I like instant info too!

Two of us from church sorted over 800 photos & pared it down to fit into the Power Sort Mini.

Then my dear sis cropped the photos, that's right she cropped over 600 photos. What a dear!

These photos are for our church's upcoming 10th anniversary.

I only have 3 weeks to get this done before WDW & I KNOW I couldn't have done it w/o the Power Sort - Mini.

Kristi - about the dividers, I think how many you use depends on how you sort your photos. My CMC sorts hers by year and files the pics chronologically, and has some sorted by child's sport, and by Christmas. She has 3 children and goes back to 1993 and I think she said she used 6 packs of dividers. I sorted mine by event, which I guess took longer but that way I have them ready to scrap without looking through again (for the most part ) and I used 4 packs of dividers and, being impatient also couldn't wait for my CMC to order more so I bought a 100 pack of blank index cards at WalMart and put them in sideways and used almost the entire pack. For comparison, I have one child and sorted from 2001 to current. A lot of mine only have a few pics in it, enough to do 1 page, but then I also have a few (like Disney trips - each has their own divider and then are sorted by day) that have hundreds in them. I'm guessing I have sorted around 2000 pictures since the box is almost full.
