and will be sending them in w/ a certified check tomorrow!!

How long until I am able to check availability and/or make reservations?

We just decided on a late July/early August trip and booked 7 nights a POFQ (Swan was sold out for several nights!!!:-( ). But we would LOVE to use some points and stay at DVC!!

How much longer do you think I have to wait????

Hi-
We closed in the middle of April, and although we have our deed and Disney has our paperwork, we are apparently waiting for our recorded deed from Orange County. It does show up on the Orange County Comptroller. I was told this morning that Orange County recently raised their recording/filing fees "substantially" and that they cannot keep up with the huge volume of papers filed just prior to when that went into effect.
The other thing that I was told was that since member services moved, they have a backlog as well. It is really frustrating!! Hang in there-

It depends on how quickly the seller sends the executed deed to the closing agent ...

Once the closing agent (probably Timeshare Closing Services) receives your cashier's check and the seller's executed deed, the contract will be closed within 24 hours. A copy of the transfer materials will be immediately delivered to Disney. It usually takes DVC 3-5 business days to get the transfer in the system.

Here's what you do from here:

Call the closing agent 2 days after you overnight the final payment to inquire about the final close. (The specific agent's name should be listed in your closing materials.) Keep doing this until you get confirmation from the agent that all materials have been received and the sale has been closed.

When you have confirmation of the close, wait 3 business days and then call DVC Member Services. Let them know that you purchased a resale and have them check to see if you are in the system. If you are not in the computer, you may want to ask them to check with DVC Member Accounting to see if the data entry can be expedited. Do this once a day until you are in the system.

Once in the system, you can make a reservation that very day -- subject to room availability.

Good Luck!
