We are flying out of philly in 16 days. I just picked up my airline tickets from my TA & there are no assigned seats listed. We are flying US Airways. Is it first come first serve? Will the 4 of us be able to stay together(meaning 3 on one side of aisle & one on the opposite side of aisle) Anyone out there who can help me I would appreciate it.

Leaving in 16 days..... Very excited...but definitely a bit nervous to fly!!!!

did you bother to ask your travel agent about it? they should have gotten you seat assignments. if not then make them call the airline and get them for you.

did your TA go over the tkts with you in any way shape or form? if not then call her to find out whats going on. she should have gotten the seats for you.

I did not bother to ask because I did not notice until I got home. She did go over the tickets with me, times, flight numbers etc. I will call her first thing in the a.m. I thought that was kind of strange not to hvae the seats listed.Thank You!

Seems strange that tickets purchased through a travel agent wouldn't have the seat information. But it can happen...we just bought three sets of tickets through Orbitz a couple of days ago, and there was no seat information on any of the paperwork. I called the airlines (two flights on American and one on ATA), and we DID have seat assignments. However, ATA pointed out that we were currently in the back of the plane and that there were plenty of good seats still left in the front, so they switched 'em for me.

It's possible the flight is quite full, and the TA wasn't able to get seat assignments. Get there early. It is not really first come first served like in the sense that SW has, but the earlier you get there that day the better your chances of getting "good" seats in the 20% that are held back. They will attempt to seat you near each other, but it isn't guaranteed. I highly doubt you'll get all seated in the same row. It would be more likely that you'll be two and two, or three in a row and one in another. You didn't mention the ages of your kids, but if they are older, and the flight is full, you'll possibly be scattered, depending on who is or isn't willing to give up seats.

Keep in mind that the exit rows aren't assigned until day of flight, and so people holding assigned seats taht request the exit row seats might end up freeing up a three across for you. Like I said, your chances of all being seated across one row are pretty slim.

Personally, I'll give up a seat for a mom with an infant. I won't for older families, for two parents and a kid, etc. I covet my aisle seats, and it takes pretty dire circumstances for me to move. I know many FF feel the same way. (I will give it up so I don't need to sit next to an unaccompanied two year old...fate worse than a middle seat between a lady with salami breath and a lecherous old guy trying to hit on me)
