Just got home from a trip to Disney world where we obtained a DAS card for my daughter who has autism.
The whole process was easy...I brought her diagnosis letter with me just in case but the nice lady at guest relations claimed she didnt need to see it. Although I did show her it anyway. She took a picture of my daughter and asked how many in our party and how many days we were staying and gave us our card.

Honestly it worked out great. We used it along with our fast past and it worked out wonderful. She does ok in small lines and alot of the rides were 5-10 mins waits so we used the DAS and fast pass for the rides that had longer waits. Over all I am very happy with how the trip went

Just wanted to share my two cents :)

Cant wait for our return trip next year!!

:welcome:

I'm glad you had a wonderful vacation! Thank you for sharing your experience with the DAS.

I'm glad to hear everything went well. I'm a 19 year old with autism. The only thing I didn't like was that you had to go to every ride instead of at a kiosk.

Have you considered going you Disneyland?
They do have kiosks there.

I have no proof of this, but I think at WDW, they may eventually have a way to put DAS Return Times on people's Magicbands. At this point, I've seen too many issues reported on the Theme Parks Board where people say they lost their Fastpass Plus selections from their phone.
At least handwritten times on a DAS card are not going to disappear.

Thanks got sharing! Can u explain how the FP+ worked with the DAS? Did u use your 3 FP+ and then get a DAS return time and another FP? Can u have AFP+ and a DAS return time at the same time ?
We are going in Oct and I'm. Not sure how to plan

It is recommended to use DAS along with FP+ in WDW. You should plan to schedule your FP+ in advanced, depending on your open window (60 days onsite or 30 days offsite). The DAS will have no particular bearing on the FP+, but can be used along with it -- many like to try to alternate with it. For example get a DAS return time, do a scheduled FP+ ride, then return for the DAS ride, get a new DAS time, do another scheduled FP+ ride, etc.. Once you have used all 3 scheduled FP+, or the time has expired, you may select a 4th FP+ from a kiosk in the park; once the 4th is used you may select a 5th, etc.

Enjoy your vacation!

Thank you for posting! I have been searching through all these threads and finally stumbled upon yours and it was just what I was looking for. My son has cystic fibrosis and in the past we used the old system, which worked so well. They switched to DAS just after our trip last year so I am trying to figure out how everything will work for our upcoming trip in September. Your post(s) have been very helpful! Anything else you or anyone else can think of that may come in handy to know feel free to share. THANKS again!

:cheer2:

So DAS almost sounds like old Fast Pass with a "permanent" card... or am I mis understanding that? Not sure when we are going next, but my son was diagnosed with Sensory issues, so not sure how he'll do in the longer lines and such. Are considering Disneyland next year, so have to research that as well.

Sort of like an open ended FP, yeah.

If the wait for Space Mountain is 60 minutes at 1:00p they would give you a DAS return time for 50 minutes, returning at 1:50p. You can go back to Space anytime after 1:50p and enter through the FP line.

You can't get another return time on the DAS until after you've used the Space return time. But if you can't make it back until 7pm, that's no problem. If you change your mind and haven't used the Space return time the CM can cross it out, and restart you with a different ride, but the wait time won't carry over.

I am actually from the area so I was used to doing it that way. When my mom asked the girl doing our card, she asked her if we could get a time for Test Track. She explained that we have to go to each ride :scared1: This was my first trip to WDW since they re did the system
