We were scheduled to leave MCO tonight at 8:15 to nyc. Called on Thursday and flight was cancelled. We rescheduled for Monday @ 10:37. Last night while watching the news at 10pm we noticed that the storm was now coming in slower and later on Sunday so we thought maybe some flts would be going on Saturday, what the heck it was a try. :D Well we are told that no there are no flts AND that our Monday flt was cancelled also.

The earliest they could get us out was late Tuesday evening, school starts on Wednesday and there are doctor/dentist appts to make so we asked if there were ANY flts leaving from anywhere. We were able to get a flt out of Tampa at 7am Sat. morning, well it is now 11pm and we are nowhere ready to go so it was a marathon to get everything packed. We are 8 people staying at the BCV 2bdrm and it seemed like a comedy from the 3 stooges, people and clothes running everywhere. There were clothes in the dryer and as soon as they were done I packed them. Well DN tells me that the pants he planed to wear were in the dryer .

We had gone out Thursday nite to by some food to hold us over till Sunday, so while the adults packed the kids were making sandwiches to take with us. They were doing great, had an assembly line going. We were all packed and bellman Francesco had picked up our bags by 1am, along with DN's pants. He walked to the car with his boxers, :) and then changed. ;) We were able to get about 2 hours sleep and off we went to Tampa. Barely made it to the gate with security lines being sooooo long but we made it. :bounce: Changed planes in Atlanta and walked into our front door at 2:40pm.

We're glad to be home and our thoughts and prayers are with everyone in Florida.

Glad you made it home thanks for sharing your story.::yes:: :wave2:

I'm glad to hear you made it home safely. I have been in Florida during a hurricane evacuation before, and it is really stressful. It's times like this that you can appreciate the phrase, "there's no place like home."

How fortunate you were to be able to get a flight out of Florida. Glad to here you made it home safely.
