We are now home from our truly Magical cruise, and I have to say, the ship looks beautiful!!!!!!!!!
We had the best time!!! Our dining rotation started out PLAPLAP, our dining time was 6:00PM!!
Unfortunately because of Omar, things had to be changed......the dining rotation, itinerary, and navigater!
We were unable to go to St Thomas, so we headed to Nassau, We didn't arrive there until 2PM Thursday! Which didn't leave us a whole lot of time to do anything there because that was the night Pirate Night was changed to!!!
And with this being our first DCL cruise, we wanted to experience all of Pirate Night!!!
Even with all the changes, we had an incredible time!!! The captain did a very good job at keeping us out of storms at sea!! We did get some rain at St Martin and Nassau, but once we left those ports, everything was great!!! CC was beautiful!!! Perfect weather!!
If anyone has any question, I would be happy to answer them!!!

Hey Candy,,

I second that the captain did an AMAZING job keeping us away from the bad weather. It was raining in Nassau as we left port but about 45 minutes later it stopped he got us to clear skies and the fireworks went off PERFECTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Were you guys dry before the Pirate Party? We were up and deck ten, and we got drenched!!!! We kept waiting for it to blow over, then we finally ran for cover LOL. It was a great party and a wonderful trip!!!

I finally unpacked from this cruise! It was our first and WON'T be the last. Already booked for 2010 for the July 4th cruise. Short one, but I can't wait. Everything was a highlight. My 4 yr old was addicted to the Karaoke nights and we couldn't pull him out of Studio Sea!

I grabbed my daughter and ran out into the rain to sing and dance... it seemed like we were the only ones out there. We got soaked, but I will remember that to the end of my days! I just hope she looks back on Pirate night the same way. The Captain did an awesome job with keeping us out of the crappy weather. I was up late most nights and we did go through some rougher seas, but they were not that bad.

We missed the Pirate Party! When we went up to Deck 9, it was pouring and DD (7) was struggling to stay awake - will have to get it next time! My highlights were:-

- the shows, Disney Dreams, Cinderella and Alfred & Seymour were great.
- doing YMCA when pulling into Nassau (and watching the CD Brent get dunked in the pool)
- Castaway Cay, perfect weather, perfect place.
- Our servers Alvin and Raphael they had DD7 in stitches every night
- Leaving St Martin and waving to everybody on the ship next door.
- All the other guests, everyone was so friendly, from the woman we met in the queue in the terminal who stopped and had a chat evertime we passed onboard to our dining neighbours.

Didn't mind the change to Nassau, I went to the Captains Questions and Captain Thord said that safety is always priority and he did a great job steering us away from bad weather.

I'm glad you guys had fun inspite of changed itinerary. Any navigators that you guys can share with us? we'll be at the next eastern cruise Nov 8-15. Thanks!

Hey guys!!!!!!!!!! I have to agree that this was an amazing vacation!!!
I do have ALL the navigators and I was planning on scanning them as soon as possible for anyone who wants them.....but still unpacking LOL

MISS YOU TOO NANCY!!!!!!!!!!!

Since the party got a late start due to the rain and Nasau I had to retire for the night with little one. Stayed for a while....but it was pouring and DS 3 was sooo tired. DH and DD stayed. I hate we missed it. I can't believe they did the fireworks! Thought for sure they'd be canceled or moved to another day.

You guys dancing the rain were so cute.

We sail on the next Eastern with Zoom. So glad to hear everyone had such a great time even though plans were changed. Would love to see the Navigators also. Thanks in advance for posting.

Me TOO! Me TOO! Navigators please. We are also on the Nov 8th Eastern.

I know that your trip kind of ended up a little different than it started and I'm so glad everyone just made the best of it. I would still love to see the navigators even with the changes.

TIA!!!

We had such a fabulous time onboard last week. Sorry I did not get to meet other Disers but we were a group of 17 and were busy all the time!!!! I seemed to be the ring leader for them so did not get too much time to seek out other disers......

Anyway the change in itinerary made no difference to me at all. We headed over to the Atlantis for a few hours in Nassau and then went back to the ship and hung out in an almost empty adult pool (yeah!!!)

We had late dining on the LAP rotation that started at 8:00 pm We had table #23 (the large one in the middle of the dining rooms). Got some of our 1st time Disney cruisers to want to book again and most of the rest of us booked again onboard as well.

Castaway Cay was just picture perfect!!! My friend, her son and I did the Stingray excursion at 11:00 am. Our new underwater digital camera worked great...I will post some great shots soon. The shows were great, so happy to see some new entertainment with Seymour and Alfred...there were hilarious and sitting at the table near us in the dining room. Real nice guys. Wish they would come to NY to perform.

That was my 17th DCL cruise and it seemed to go by the fastest of any other cruise I was on. I could not believe it was over so soon. We booked onboard back in 2006 and those 2 years dragged by but last week flew by!!!

I was very happy to have fantastic weather all week (except the rain on Tues and Wed night)...I would never doubt the Captain's itinerary change and am so happy in his infinite wisdom that he changed course and had us leave St. Maarten early. We actually spent a few hours at Orient Beach in St. Maarten and the weather held out...even got some color!!!

Met many people at the Return Cruiser party.....people were seeking me out as I seemed to have the most cruises in the room and was also on the Maiden Voyage of the Magic so I helped people fill out their contest cards!! it was a lot of fun meeting and talking to other cruisers....

Anyway, again sorry that I did not get to visit other Disers....we did book the 14 day Westbound repo in 2010!!!

All in all another great week onboard the Disney Magic!!!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Hi! What Castaway Club gifts did you get? Saw your post before on the digital camera thread, and i also got the olympus 850 as a bday present couple of days ago, i hope you get a chance to post some pics. Thanks!

We had a great bunch of people to cruise with and oddly enough for anyone else not on this cruise reading this thread, there really were no big complaints about not making it to St.Thomas. Maybe part of it was the deck 9 get togethers with the self draining "bag-o-beer" LOL.
Hey should we warn the next St.Maarten visitors about the rental cars? I wonder who will get stinky the would be Jeep? I would have never thought I could rent a car that made my Plymouth Breeze look like a Cadilac but somehow the 30 year old Toyota Corolla that's never had so much as an oil change was the best car there! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I don't know how much farther Stinky will make it!!
I don't think any of us were too upset about not having to do the 7 am immigration call in St. Thomas.

That was the best part of it, but I wish they had had the pirate party on Weds night instead of Thurs. We like to get up early for Castaway, so with the rain on pirate night we ended up skipping the party so the kids could get some shut eye. Maybe they just wanted the cruisers on the other ships in Nassau to be jealous of the fireworks!
