Just got here today!

We are back at DLH after an amazing evening. Last time I wrote we were soaking wet.... :goodvibes

After bathing and laundry I realized that our reservations were at 6:00, not 6:30 like I thought so we hustled and had 14 minutes to make it to Ariel's Grotto! We walked super fast and made it the at 6:00 on the dot, wet hair and all! :crazy2:

We were given a buzzer and went outside to check out the Paradise Pier area and our buzzer promptly went off. We were sent downstairs and seated outside. It was fairly busy but we had a good waiter. They gave us the WOC menu. I got the salad starter and substituted blue cheese dressing on the side and DH and DD ordered the clam chowder. when our starters were served they accidentally brought DH a salad and then a soup so he got both. I really enjoyed my salad but my hubby said his lettuce was slimy. We attributed the difference due my dressing request. The clam chowder was tasty.

My DD11 got the shrimp and angel hair dish and DH and I both got the lobster and tri-tip dish. DD didn't like her dish so DD switched with her. My meal was surprisingly good and DH thought the shrimp dish was pretty good, except he hates being served shrimp with the tails on! I agree.

Then The AP WOC show was about to begin so they dimmed the lights and piped in the music. I had no idea that we'd get to do this so I was thrilled! :cool1:

Our waiter delivered not one but TWO dessert trays for us to share and eat while we were watching the show. I was in heaven. The dessert trays included some rice crispy treats, strawberries, mini cupcakes, mini cheesecakes, mini Oreos and a small popcorn cake and a tub of chocolate dipping sauce. It was tasty.

The show was great and we loved Frozen so it was fantastic: the lights, the water and the music. From that area you have a side view of the show but we didn't care because we would be going to the later show.

The whole experience was very magical and the reason We keep coming back! pixiedust:

A 15% gratuity is included in your check but we added a little extra because our waiter was awesome! We left Ariel's Grotto and headed to Silly Symphony Swings as DD and DH wanted to ride.

They rode a few times and we headed to out preferred WOC section. We were at the very front behind a single row of people so we were close and yes we did get a little wet!! The show started and it was awesome! I love Olaf from Frozen and the music is broadway caliber with Idina Menzel singing "Let it go" and also Heather Headley sings a beautiful arrangement. I thought they did an amazing job and I had read some very negative reviews is the show. I would highly recommend watching Frozen before seeing this show but we all thougt it was awesome!

Have a great evening and thanks for reading! :thumbsup2

alaskanmommy --

I moved this thread over to the Disneyland Trip Report forum because I think it's more of an ongoing trip report at this point, and the main Disneyland forum is more for planning-specific threads, questions, discussions, etc.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you (and everyone else) know where to find your report, although I did leave a redirect that will lead everyone here if they check the thread!:goodvibes

If you can, be sure to post photos for people to enjoy!:cool1:

We just got here yesterday too. Anchorage was freezing cold and it's wonderful here. Glad to know someone else from home is so close! We are staying at the DLH as well, and will be here until next Tuesday. Have a wonderful trip!

Thanks Becky! I hope your trip is going well so far. Yes, the weather had definitely been nice but it was kind of chilly this evening. Have a magical trip!

Well we had a somewhat uneventful day as DD wasn't feeling very well today. She seemed kind of run down last night so we all slept in and got up and had breakfast at UVA around 10:00. It was yummy, but pretty spendy.

DD didn't feel very well (headache and sinus pain) so we headed back to the room so she could rest. DD has a disorder that makes her prone to ear, sinus and lung infections so any cough or issues like that and we have to start her on antibiotics right away. So we started her meds and I had her rinse her sinuses a few times and gave her some Tylenol and lots of water

. She rested all day until around 5:30 we decided we would go to DL to watch the fireworks and ride a few rides. We rode Star Tours a few times and Astro Blasters and then headed to IASM and one of the facade shows was going on, it was really cool! The wait was 45 minutes so we skipped it, rode the teacups and headed over to do pirates which was a walk on. Just as we got to the castle the fireworks started, they were beautiful and the music was as well.

After that we went to use our FP at Star Tours and we got two different scenarios that we hadn't seen yet in this trip. Then the park was closing so we headed to DTD and had dinner at Tortilla Joe's. Dinner was surprisingly good and we headed back to the room so DD could take her meds and get a good night sleep. Hopefully she will feel better in the morning.

Have a wonderful evening!

Hope your daughter is feeling better!
