I just this very minute got off the phone with Disney Dining and was able to get a reservation for CRT dinner on our last night, November 6th!

I feel very fortunate, as I made all my ADRs 180+ days out and didn't even bother to reserve CRT because I have 2 boys and thought they probably couldn't care less about Cinderella or princesses. Imagine my shock this week when my son says "but Mommy, I like Cinderella and I really want to eat in the castle" :rolleyes1

So of course I have been calling every day (actually 2 -3 times a day) to see if I could book a breakfast in the castle. No luck. So I started inquiring about dinner as well. No luck.... until just now!! :yay:

So my questions are: What is the difference between the atmosphere during breakfast and dinner? The CM just told me that the dinner is not a character experience, but that you can meet Cinderella downstairs and get a photo done. Then you go upstairs to eat in the castle. The boys would receive a sword. Also, the fairy godmother makes announcements of some kind. Does this mean there are characters, just not princesses? Will this still be enjoyable for my 2 boys or is it more "adult"? Should I keep calling to try and get a breakfast instead?

The timimg works perfectly for us since I had cancelled the Mickey's BBQ that night. I wanted to be at MK our last night to catch Spectro (our only chance to see it) and Wishes. So our dinner ADR is at 4:00 - perfect!

Any opinions?

I would suggest you go for a late lunch then you get Cinderella downstairs and all the other princesses- ie Snow White, Jasmine, Belle and Sleeping Beauty upstairs- same as breakfast- we love lunch at CRT! :yay:

dinner is fine, but it's not at all like the other character meals. You get a short meet & greet with Cinderella in a nice castle room downstairs (she just talks to the kids & you for a minute) then posed picture with her. then it's upstairs to the castle dining room. We liked the food...prime rib, BLT salad and chocolate buckle for dessert were great choices for the adults. During the meal, the mousemaids from Cinderella (Perla & Susie) comes around very briefly to the tables, will pause for pictures. Then Fairy godmother comes out and sings a song Happy Celebration to You & acknowledges birthdays, anniversaries, honeymoons, etc. (in general way, not specific names) She does not stop for pictures, and does not go around to individual tables, just kind of dances around while singing. It's a nice little bit of entertainment. And the inside of the castle is wonderful to see.

We enjoyed the CRT dinner...but did not have any little kids with us (our "baby" was there, but she's 19 yrs. old.)

Thank you. Our 19 year old "baby" will also be joining us! And she's our only girl, so I'm sure she will love this as well. I'm not so concerned that the princesses will not actually be interacting at the dinner. It would be nice if so, but it's not a huge deal (I think, anyway). What happened was that in conversation with my DH I said that I hadn't booked any meals in the castle because it's only princesses and I didn't think the boys "wanted to eat with Cinderella". That's when my son made the remark about liking Cinderella and wanting to eat in the castle. The truth is I never even thought that just the actual experience of eating in the castle would be fun and exciting on it's own. So I'm hoping this will be sufficient. I do wish there were more opportunities for "boy" interactions - including at the castle.

We do have many other character meals planned as well. Chef Mickey, Tusker House, O'Hana's, Crystal Palace, Cape May are all booked for either breakfast or lunch, so they will have plenty of character interaction at meals.

But of course my neuroses will probably have me still calling 3 times a day seeing if I can snag breakfast!
