We just returned Fri. from a week at WDW. I'll give my thoughts and opinions and try to answer any questions.
Overall we had a great time!!
The only place we really had a problem with the crowds was in the Star Wars area at MGM. Otherwise, in all the parks we were able to easily manage rides, shows etc. with little to no wait by timing it just right, using FP and a little bit of pixie dust.
I was very taken aback at how miserable, bored and rude some of the CMs were. I have never seen a less than cordial CM at WDW, but they were lurking everywhere this year. The worst case was when we lost my oldest DS after we rode Star Tours. The CM wouldn't let me go back into the gift shop to look for him. I was actually told that I would have to stand in the really long line to get into the gift shop to look for him or else see his manager. Luckily my husband had not yet crossed the "security" line and he stayed in while I looked outside. I asked the CM if a lost child came along fitting the discription I gave him if he'd tell the child to wait there. He rudely told me no and that if I wanted any help I'd have to see his manager. He was not the only CM "standing guard" and the other one just looked the other way. No help whatsoever. I was scared and livid! I understand they have protcol to follow, but you don't tell a momma bear looking for her cub to see a manager. OK, I'm off my soapbox. I love the CMs and think they do an exceptional job, but something was missing this trip.
Soarin' was phenomenal! Lights, Motors, Action! was wonderful! I rode Dinosaur for the first and last time--it literally took my back out it was so jarring. I rode Mission:Space for the first and last time -- I LOVED it, but I was very thankful for the close proximity of the air sickness bags! Lucky the Dinosaur was a cutie! Anakin Skywalker was a hottie! My kids and DH loved Disney Quest (I loved the Cheesecake Factory Express!) We had car trouble and used the Disney Car Care Center. They were super and were so accommodating to us. We called our mechanic from home and DCCC gave us a better price than our own mechanic told us to expect!! CM Linda was so sweet to us at CP for our breakfast PS. We watched Wishes from Fantasyland. Couldn't see the castle (saw that perspective last year) but the experience was so cool. We were right in the middle of where they shoot the fireworks. Awesome!! Whispering Canyon was a hoot!
We did all we set out to do and we all had a wonderful trip. If anyone has any questions, I'll be happy to answer them.
