I just got back from Disneyland on Tuesday and we had an incredible time. We spent 6 days in the park. It was awesome!! Thank you for everyone who posts on this board. All of the information that I read here was soooo helpful in planning my trip and I just thought I would share some of my trip and perhaps help those who are planning.

First, Carsland. Amazing!! It's like walking into Radiator Springs in the movie. The tractor ride and RSR are awesome!! We did FP's...very important for this ride. But when we did our Early Morning Hour - we stayed at a resort hotel - we were on the ride in 20 minutes, even though the wait time said 65 minutes. With this land being as busy as it was, I believe it made the other lands a little less busy.

It was incredibly hot....like 108 degrees hot. The parks sell this squirt/fan bottles that mist water at you....the best $14 you will ever spend. I recommend it if you have hot days.

In Disneyland we just happened upon this area by the Big Thunder Jamboree that was all decorated for Halloween and there were things for the kids to do...like games, coloring and crafts. And the characters were there in their Halloween costumes interacting with the kids. There was also a tent set up where you could line up to see the villians, like Captain Hook, Cruella, Malificent, etc. It was so much fun. We spent about 2 hours there with the kids. A nice break from the heat.

Most rides in Disneyland we only waited for about 15-20 minutes. It was perfect. We didn't do too much of the FP's as we didn't really need to.

We also went on a tour at Disneyland called Discover the Magic tour. It was mostly for the kids, but us adults had a great time watching the kids have fun. They were sent on a treasure hunt all over the park. We travelled to all the lands and went on two rides (and because we were on the tour - we went to the front of the line...no waiting). Then we ended up in Toontown to see Mickey Mouse who helped the kids with their final clue. I would recomend this to anyone who has kids. It's alot of walking though, about two hours of walking and it was hot. We had a 4 year old and it was just too much for her to keep up. The 7 year old did great though. But other than that, it was awesome.

Character Breakfasts:

Ariel's Grotto - good if you want to see about 4-5 princesses. Food was okay....but not worth $255. It is lunch with Ariel, but you only see her when you first walk into the restaurant, she doesn't come to the table like the other princesses do. Merida and Rapunzel are not at this lunch/dinner. If it's the princesses you want, do the Royal Walk in Disneyland. We were in the Royal Walk line for about 30 minutes and we were able to spend time with three princesses. We then waited for about 15 minutes to see Rapunzel and about 20 to see Merida. And the Royal Walk and going to the areas for Rapunzel and Merida didn't cost us $255.

Plaza Inn - the best of them all. Food is great and we saw a ton of characters. And the interaction of the characters with the kids was great!! We actually did this one two days in a row. If you want good food and lots of characters - this is the one!

Storytellers - do not do this one. Not many characters and the food was just ok. I wouldn't recommend it and we said that we wouldn't do it again.

Surf's Up - another great one. Lots of character interaction and fun for the kids. The food was great as well.

We missed out on some parades as it was too hot. So plan your days wisely. If you want to see outdoor shows or parades, watch the weather as Disney will cancel them if it's too hot.

Well, I think that's all I have for now. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask and I'll answer as best I can.

Ok did you see or hear of ppl seeing Malifcent? We are going in 11 days and this is our main meet and greet must fid. Was she there?

We did not see her. We waited in line because we knew she was in the tent. When we finally got inside, we were told they had just switched her out with Cruella. We were very disappointed, but Cruella was still awesome. We were told they change the characters about every 20-30 minutes. We saw Cruella and then went back in line again to see if Malificent would come back, but she didn't... Cruella was then switched out with Captain Hook.

TY i will make sure to get there then ive got plans to go to that tent more then 4 tiems TY so much

Thanks for posting this. We leave in about a month. Glad to hear that the Plaza Inn was good. We are doing a late breakfast there on our last day.

Sounds like a great trip! Sorry you didn't like Storytellers... it is our favorite usually and we have seen up to 11 characters at this breakfast. Maybe you had an off time?

Glad you found the jamboree area... we've done Halloween at Disney twice and that area seems to be getting better and better! pixiedust:

When were you there? You said it was 108 during the day...ugh. I keep checking weather for Anaheim and the forecast says like high 80's. Everyone keeps posting about how hot it is and it doesn't make sense unless it was a while back when you were there.

We will be there in a week and a half for only 2 days but wondering how hot it will be then. Thanks!

Is this type of information we can get at City Hall? And do they have the info for a week at a time or do you have to check back everyday?
Thanks,
Kerri

:cool1: I am so glad you had a great time, Pixie, but like M2PA, we LOVE Storytellers. Gosh, I think we have eaten there 50x (we live here) and we had our Thanksgiving there last year. :thumbsup2

I'm going to book Surfs Up breakfast this weekend (for November). Which characters did you see there? My Dd is wanting to see Stitch.

Weather.com shows that it was 105 and 108 last Friday and Saturday. That is wayyyy too hot for me!

So it sounds like you don't know what villain you will see while waiting in line, is that correct? I only want to see Cruella and my family won't be too happy waiting. Not sure if it's going to work to see her if there's no schedule.

YES, we have been having a HEAT WAVE. I live in a HI RISE here in the OC and while I face South-SouthWest and love SUN SUN SUN … YIKES all that sun had my balconies (I have 2) 127 degrees. I took a pic and put it on my FB page … everyone was SHOCKED.

But its a little better … but I am hearing a WARM UP for the weekend.

Looks like it be 79 and 80 for the days we are there good luck to those you who have to deal with 100+ i hate az lol its to hot for me

Kkendle - we were there September 10-18 and the heat wave was just last weekend. It was crazy hot. We went early in the morning and then took a break from 11-4 and then went back for the evening. We were even told by staff at Disney that this was unusual weather for this time of year.

lurpee - Malificent - we were not told while waiting in line who was in the tent. The Cast Member said it was all a surprise and they couldn't tell us. So...it's just by chance who you will see. I wanted Malificent too, but couldn't keep waiting for her to come back. At City Hall they just tell you there will be random characters at the villians tent.

Julsmom - Surf's Up - The characters we saw were Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Daisy and Stitch. It was great fun!! The characters interacted alot with the kids.

Storytellers for us was not the greatest for us. It's too bad though...it sounds like others had a great time there. We only saw three characters, Chip, Dale and Rafiki.
