Just got back after two amazing weeks in the world and I miss it already!

One of the best parts of the entire trip was the Wild Africa Trek. What an amazing experience! We were literally 8 feet from alligators and and crossing rope bridges high above the ground! Our guides were great and the lunch was amazing...Over the 3 hours a photographer took photos and we will all receive a CD off all the photos... IMHO, the Trek is well worth the expense.

The only disappointment on the trip was the soft-opening of Star Tours 2 started the day we left!

...and surprisingly we finished in the top third of our category (co-ed team) in the Expedition Everest Challenge 5k!

Can't wait until the next trip!

Woow, what a great trip that sounds like!! 2 amazing weeks in the World when it's gloom and doom here in Toronto...

Congrats on getting top third in EE challenge!

I was thinking of the Wild Africa Trek. Can you tell about it. My DH is not into spicey food. What did you eat? What time did you have? What was the cost? Did you have to have a ticket to get in? We have been to the Animal Kingdom a few times and I have planned only 1 day there for our August trip.

You do need park admission and the cost of the Trek was about $125 / person (although I believe it changes depending on the season)

The lunch was served in a cabana-like setting in the middle of the African savannah with the animals all around. The lunch was individually portioned and included fruits, meats, breads and an amazing salmon wheel.

We booked the 10am Trek and it started with a hike (no spoilers!) and then a ride to further parts of the savannah in an open-air truck

It was amazing! I recommend it!
