I don't like to take pictures, so you'll have to use your (figment) Imagination...

So there we were - me (DW, 36), DH, 35, DS 14, and DD 10.

There were some good and bad points to our trip. Unfortunately, when we checked into POFQ at 8am, our rooms weren't ready, which I was prepared for. When we returned to the hotel after a great day at HS, I was told "this is your room number - 622x". I told them that I had requested a room on the first floor, near the main building, and the guy told me that they were completely booked.

Then, I said "can you have a bellperson come to help us with our bags?" He told me that there were no bell services "on the graveyard shift".

Then, when we finally got to the room, I was so disappointed when I opened the door. The top of the bureau was water stained, there were scuffs on the wall, the enamel re-coating on the bathtub was peeling, and there were (small) red stains on both the shower curtain and the dressing room curtain. I called and brought the problems to their attention and voiced that I was "not having a particularly magical moment after herniating myself trying to get all our suitcases to the back of the complex and up the stairs"...well, my new best friend Beverly told me that 1) they do have bell services and 2) she would have them move me tomorrow

That morning we had a voice mail from the front desk (kinda sneaky-like) asking if we still wanted to move. well, duh. Anyway, YAAAY Beverly.

Our new room was much better, although there is still the problem with the bathtub coating coming off. Re: mousekeeping, there was a jester hat in the new room but we didn't get another animal/thing (yes, we tipped).

I loved the POFQ room theming and the pool and main building.

I love the soap they give you in the rooms, if someone can tell me what it is, I would appreciate it.

Our second night we went to the Adventurer's Club (with the kids) and the French Maid was so delighted to have a pastor that she kicked out the 40-something computer guy and did a hilarious interview with my husband. When it came time to bow down before the idol mask on the wall, he said, "uh, I can't do that. How about I just wave or something" and we had a big schtick about that (and she pulled me in..."just pretend she's me honey!")

We were on DDP and ate dinner at Tusker House (our favorite), Restaurant Marrakesh (not as good as TH, but there is entertainment. Loved the mint ice cream and fruit together), Oktoberfest (wonderful and loved the couple we were seated with), San Angel Inn (pretty good), and Boma (not as good as TH but fairly good food.) I was surprised by the varying level of attention we received from the Cast Members. Our "magical moment" was actually from a lady who worked at the POFQ counter service place wiping tables. go figure.

For counter service, the POFQ dinners were awesome. We ate at Sunshine Seasons and various burger/pizza joints. Wolfgang Puck Express was a bit of a letdown but the key lime pie was good.

Regarding my fellow guests. literally every time I sat down for a show or a 3-d movie, there was a big tall bald guy in front of me (shiny head). The Mickey's Philharmagic show, the 3-d didn't even work because of the BTBG in front of me.

I nearly lost it at the Ariel show when the BTBG used his digital camera throughout the entire show. The entire show, I watched this guy mess with his camera (glowing screen), setting off random flashes, etc.

This was actually a good thing, because the poor Ariel actress sang flat consistently on every held note of "part of your world". Like, not "Simon Cowell would point it out" flat, but "Paula Abdul would point it out and not even compliment how flat her tummy was" flat. Like, bad, semi-tone off flat. This was at 3:30 on Saturday Aug 16 if anyone from casting is reading this. (I'm a singer, so I know someone can have an off day).

I loved the Lion King show and the Beauty/Gaston singers were great.

We got the AAA parking pass from ebay and enjoyed being able to park right up front. For the extra magic hours nights to the Magic Kingdom we used the bus, which was great.

Also, I bought a tinkerbell lanyard with a ?wallet? on the end of it at the gift shop at Golden Corral on 192 for about $7. It was GREAT for holding KTTW cards, fastpasses, receipts, and a chapstick.
