Had a really good time-weather was hot in the 80s but was supposed to be changing this week.

Parks were empty in the week but were very busy on weekend, stayed at the contemporary where it was always busy with conventions, parking was a bit of a mare there.

Did the EPCOT UnDiscover future world tour, can really recommend this, you go back stage at the seas, mission spac,e imminigation pavilion and soarin. Also got to see them load the shells into the barges for illuminations.

Only bad bit was having an alergic reaction to imodium and having to visit the hospital, thank god I had insurance as the bill was over $700 need to claim that back now!

welcome back!!

sorry to hear about the hospital visit - although in the states $700 isn't all that bad for a hospital bill - they charge for every little thing (and even things they don't do....don't get me started)

the future world tour sounds really interesting! I'll put it on our list :thumbsup2

i'm looking forward to hearing more about your trip!!

Welcome back and thank heavens you had insurance to cover your hospital visit . Do hope you are ok now:thumbsup2

Am totally fine now, was rather scary at the time though, in the process of claiming back th costs now, they demanded payment by credit card before I could see a doctor!

Stayed at the contomprary resort, I have made friends with the guys in the outer rim bar there over the years, they said the bar is being chopped in half again next year when the wave opens, most are considering moving down there but they have yet to get any details, the bar was already chopped down when they built the tempo grab n go so its a shame.

Something else I did this year I have never done is rent a speed boat on bay lake, went exploring around the old discovery island and river island and went over to the sever seas lagoon, the boats are not veryfast and if your over 16 its worth having a go- lots of fun!

Other than that did a lot of relaxing, so much I only managed to to to MK once! had to do my last ride on space mountain before it closes next year.

Spaceship earth was also open for a preview. New voice is judy dench the first part is refreshed and good but they have ruined the decent, hopefully they will fix it before it opens firmly, this was my fave ride and its a shame they had to mess with it!

i've read similar reviews of spaceship earth.....it's also one of our favorites..

as for pay in advance healthcare in the US, indeed....you could probably keel over and die and they wouldn't look at you if you can't pay....
it's a very unforgiving medical system.....(there have actually been cases where people have been turned away by private hospitals and sent to public health care facitilities if they couldn't pay - and some who died as a result)....the health care in the US is without question the best in the world - if you can pay...if not, heaven help you (that may be your only help)...

I'm sorry, but that's just wrong. It's against the federal law to turn patients away at any hospital. There are a few hospitals exempt from the law, those being Shriners Hospitals for Children (which provide free care to children), Indian Health Services (on the reservations), and military veteran hospitals. If it happens, being turned away, the doctor and the hospital can be subject to huge fines and lawsuits. That's why our medical care is so expensive. Hospitals are attempting to cost shift to people who can pay and the insurance companies.

I am sorry, but what nonsense. I could quite easily say that in the UK, you get into the hospital and can easily die from the germs and dirty conditions (and some have died as a result) plus at private hospitals in the UK they won't treat cases that turn up on their doorstep.
Lets not forget the post code lottery as to if you get some drugs or not...

At least we have a national health service, flawed though it might be, you can always choose to top it up yourself or go entirely private by paying which is what EVERYONE in the US has to do. The USA is the only industrialised nation on Earth with no Government run Health care plan.

47 million Americans have NO health care at all 10 million of these are children and medical bills outstrip ANY other reason at all for personal bankruptcy.

Good on the Americans.
Perhaps if we had the same system, we would have an excellent medical system and less medical tourists visiting these shores.
Taxation is theft.

thanks for the update - i see that law was passed in 1986. So i'm a good 20 years behind the times (though we only moved from the states in 1990).

Until that time, emergency patients were most definitely turned away.
The congressional hearings on the subject made for most distressing reading (if you're so inclined).

However, it is still true today that if you're not an emergency case, your chances of obtaining treatment if you're uninsured are not good.

Just wanted to say welcome back and glad that you had a good time - I hope the weather doesn't change too much as we go in 4 days!

Welcome back - I must have missed the news about Space Mountain closing - my DD will be sad as she loves it!

its only a rumour at the moment that it will close early next year for a year. Nothing is certain though until it happens!
