Well made it back yesterday. Was there from Tues 13th to Monday 19th. Had some highlights and lowlights. Here is a thumbnail. I'll go into detail later if anyone wants specifics.
Highlights -
1) won YOAMD lanyard and collector pin set coming off of BTMR with the nephew(he won also).
2) got pics of 2yr old hugging Piglet at Crystal Palace.
3) 2yr met his favorite person in the whole wide world - Mr Buzz Lightyear.
4) Absolutely no stress getting across border- 3 words get you past the border guard in short order : flying to Disney
5)Mousekeeping was superb with fancy toothbrush holders, swans and doggies.
6)Great room at POP -room 1148 in 50's building 1.
7)flight into MCO was actually early.
Lowlights-
1)flights attendants on DTW-BWI said child seat fine in middle seat as long as seat doesn't exceed depth of plane's seat. f/a's on BWI-MCO tell us this isn't true and instruct us to change itBUT only tell us after the plane has not only left the gate but is taxing to the runway. Can you say -under pressure
2)while waiting my turn in line at Crystal Palace to announce we've arrived for our 5:10pm dinner ressie. A lady cuts in front of me. I ask her to kindly get to the back of line and she refuses saying she doesn't have to because she has a reservation. I inform her I do too so get back there. Other words were exchanged I decided it wasn't worth the hassle.Rude people luckily are in the minority.
3)for a 5:10pm ressie we waited till 5:35pm to get seated. I'm thinking "what's the point?". Pooh and friends were great - food not so great imo.
4)Space Mountain broke down twice on Sunday.Late morning and evening- so much for the fasspasses we had.
5)Got caught in major downpour Thursday 15th at MGM with rain ponchos sitting comfortably in the hotel room-can you say "DOH"
6)Went to DTD and maybe it was me but it seemed to be in a not so Disneyesque condition. Little touches seemed to be missing. Almost like it was run by another company that had let it get a little run down.
All in all we had a good time and are already talking about our now bi-annual trip to the land of the mouse.

During those days, my daughter and I experienced situations that I never in a million years would like I would experience at WDW cutting in line, parents screaming at their kids, parents screaming at each other, people just being plain rude. We found a good spot early for the parade at MK and just before the parade came a man with his daughter on his shoulders- pushed my daughter knocking her off her feet- and stood in front of her. On another occasion, on the way out of MK, a man was yelling obscenities at his wife saying I knew I should have left you when I had the chance. To be honest, those were not good days for us at the Happiest Place in the World. Once the crowds got a little lighter, after Jan 1st, things drastically improved and we enjoyed the rest of our visit. I think the long days make people tired and end up with frayed nerves and we just decided that we were going to do our own thing and not be bothered by others and their rudeness. In a way, I feel bad for them as they did not appear to enjoy themselves.
