Stayed at WL 12/6 thru 12/9. Oh my lands!! We have stayed at this resort before but not for Christmas. WOW!! This place was incredible!
And since this was a Christmas present for my husband (OK, and me too), I went for the discount code for concierge. Well, let's just say this............on the third night I had a room for courtyard(not concierge) that I had gotten thru expedia. When the concierge desk offered the up-sell for $30 to concierge, my husband said, "I don't care about the $30, just get concierge again!!" WE ARE TOTALLY HOOKED!! I always thought this would be a waste. But when you get it at that kind of discount, you just can't beat it.
For one thing, I like not waiting in line to check in. We were taken to our room FIRST! THEN we checked in at the desk. Man, was that nice after a long trip. (wasn't supposed to be a long trip, but flight from Phil. to Orlando was cancelled, so we got the next flight down....FIRST CLASS! Wooo-Hooo!!) And, YOU WON'T BELIEVE THIS! We got a room that had a clear view of the castle, cont. hotel, grand fl. , and ofcourse, THE FIREWORKS.....two nights we saw fireworks from our balcony, and I NEVER PUT IN A ROOM REQUEST! I'm telling you, this trip, it was like nothing could go wrong, or if it did, we were well compensated for it.
The Concierge desk at WL couldn't have been more attentive. They took care of all of our arrangements.....AND THE FOOD! They tell you that you can't really make a meal out of it but that it is just snacks. Who are they kidding?? For the "wine and cheese" time of day they had ; cheese tray, cracker tray, veggie tray with dip, a pot of baked beans, pork spare ribs(that fell off the bone, by the way), three different kinds of wine, and about five different kinds of cold drinks. And ofcourse there is coffee,tea,hot chocolate,etc. And that was just one night. Other nights they had chicken noodle soup, broccolli/cheese soup, egg rolls with dipping sauce just to name a few. During the day, they had muffins, pretzels/nuts, gummy worms and cute PB & J sandwiches for the kids.........but at night they had awesome desserts with wine and cordials....yumm,yumm!!
We felt like we were eating all of the time. Anyway, my husband is so hooked, he started making plans for the next trip. (Heeheehee....I knew I could reel him in and make him just as much a fanatic as I am....heeheehee
)
But the real star of this trip was the lodge itself. Folks, let me tell you. The pictures just don't do it justice. This place is the place for Christmas. If cozying up by one of the many fireplaces on a compfy couch, drinking hot chocolate and staring at a 6 story christmas tree is your idea of a romantic christmas trip......then this is THE PLACE for you. Oh, and ofcourse christmas music in the background.
We had the dream trip. Just the two of us, WL concierge, Le Cellier CP dinner package (check rest. and park board for trip reports coming soon), the Lodge, MVMCP, have I mentioned the Lodge........
as you can see, it was wonderful.......or as my husband said, "Thanks honey, this was magic!"
Incredible. Just incredible.
