So our family of four just got back from our stay at Yacht club, awesome place! Stayed at Beach Club a few years ago and loved it but decided to change it up. Our girls (13/16 now) loved it, they said either resort is good with them based on amenities (which they share) and location. Yacht to me seemed more chill, less hectic. Personally I prefer YC as we had a great view and location to everything (resort view, but we had water view w/ full balcony). You cant go wrong with either TBH. We just like the easier access to both Epcot and HS and being able to watch Epcot fireworks every night
So we hit all 4 parks. We rode all the headliners as we decided to book LL for each one right at 7. Pricey, but we dont go often enough to risk it or waste much time in lines.
We were able to book GOTG twice as we purchased the first ride, then booked a boarding later via 6pm VQ. BEST ride, we all loved it and so glad we could do it twice. Rope dropped Remy and then finished the night (extended evening hours) with it as well.
HS we did SDD once in the morning, did all the SW rides and rode TOT twice (G+ and stand by later). Kids loved it, bummed that RR is still closed but we managed. Also of note, an employee at the resort told us RR would be re-themed to Goofy. Probably not ground breaking news if you are on this site as its likely been discussed but take it FWIW.
MK was different this time around as we had no idea how to play for two VQs. We booked Tiana right at 7 and got lucky enough to board around 3pm. We purchased LL for Tron so did that early in the AM, as soon as we tapped into Tiana we booked the 1pm VQ for Tron (still available, shockingly) for a late group and ended our park day with Tron at night which was awesome! Probably the kids second favorite ride, up there with GOTG and Tiana we thought was well done. Very happy with the re-theme although we will always miss our time with Splash! Also able to ride Space, Thunder, 7DMT, and everything else you would imagine. With older kids the character meets arent much of a thing but we did manage to squeeze a few in. MK was the only park we didnt split up, we stayed 14 hours straight and by the time we hit the hotel it was lights out! Everyone was exhausted, but worth it. AK finished by 2, Epcot and HS we went back to YC and returned to the parks after resting stacking a few more rides for the evening.
For table service were were able to check out Space220 for lunch, Beaches and Cream for a dinner, Ale and Compass for breakfast once and Rosa Mexicano at Dolphin. All very good, Rosa surprised us with how good it was since it was a last minute booking. If you like Mexican and in the area, it is worth checking out. We loved it, very good food and service, we will be back for sure!
Let me know if you have any questions or feedback. Thought overall for a week long trip we did pretty well and hit everything we wanted. Managed to squeeze in a day at Discovery Cove also. Tiana, Tron and GOTG where top of our list. If I had known you could book LL for Tiana we probably would have done that so we wouldnt get locked out of booking Tron again later, honestly I had no idea how it was going to work with multiple VQs but we got very lucky. Apparently you can only be in one at a time, so plan accordingly! (at least for now, until they change it all again in a month!)
Happy planning and happy July 4th week!
