Just Got Back Poly Concierge - Any Questions?

We just got back from a wonderful time at the Poly. We were there from Oct. 11-19 in a LV room in both Tahiti and Hawaii buildings.

Concierge staff was very helpful but definitely stressed out during the transition. Seems there was some glitches with the reservation system booking too many people in the Hawaii bldg (guess they thought they might still be in the Tahiti bldg).

Noticed that the food was still being served on plastic, something about their dishwasher not working. The rooms in Hawaii are definitely smaller than Tahiti. The only new improvements I noticed in the rooms were the room thermostats were digitial and a motion activated vent in the bathroom.

If anyone has any questions, I would be happy to answer them.
:D

Could you tell me about the kinds of food that was served. I am really debating about whether or not the extra money is worth it. Thanks!

GSMOM- we'll be leaving for poly concierge in 8 days yeah!! :Pinkbounc :bounce: (single digit dance) Do you think they'll have the overbooking straightened out by then? Was it very chaotic when they moved into Hawaii?? Was Chef Dick there?? Were the food offerings plentiful? Was the lounge overcrowded?? DId they rooms look new? Was the room temp OK if you left & came back in ? (if its motion detection driven - if your at the parks is it stuffy when you return?) Are you happy with your over all Poly experience? Would you stay there again? Was Hawaii's location more convienantly located to the pool & transportation? Were was your room? Sorry so many questions but your one of the first back. Thanks in adavnce.pirate:

This is to the best of my recollection.
For Breakfast: Danishes, Cinnamon Rolls, Bagels, Blueberry Muffins, Pineapple Sweet Bread, Oatmeal, Cereal (Fruit Loops, Frosted Flakes, Raisin Bran and a Granola Type)

All The Time: Cookies, Gummy Worms, Candy, Fruits, Sodas, Perrier, Bottled Water. You can also ask for Milk, Chocolate Milk and Boxed Apple Juice.

For Evening: Sat-BBQ Beef Sandwiches and Spring Rolls, Sun-Beef Macaroni and Pasta Salad, Mon-Sushi, Tues-Chicken & Beef Sate (Meat on Skewers) and Fried Rice, Wed-Beef Lo Mein and White Rice, Fri-Terriyaki Wings and Springs Rolls. We missed Thurs
PB&J and sometimes brownies for the Kids. Wine served too.

For Desserts & Cordials: Strawberry Shortcake, Black Forest Cake, lots of different types of tarts. To drink, Kahlua, Frangelica, Baileys and others I can't remember.

If this is what you like to eat then it is definitely worth it.

I would hope they would have the overbooking straightened out. It was not very chaotic for us to move into Hawaii. Chef Dick was there most of the time. He was very nice and helpful. The food offerings were plentiful. Sometimes you had to ask for more cordials when they ran out but they also had more. I did not notice the lounge being overcrowded. In fact nobody was ever on the upper floor of the lounge. The rooms did not look new but did not look run down either. The room temp was OK but I noticed with the digital thermostat you cannot get the room colder than 67 degrees (if you are so inclined). The motion detector was for the vent in the bathroom. I have stayed at the Poly before and it always our favorite, so of course we would come back again. Hawaii was more convenient to the pool, the GCH and the boats to MK. Tahiti was more convenient to the TTC and the parking lot (if you had a car). Our room was on the 3rd floor - smoking optional (we are not smokers). I did notice the smell of smoke in the hallway the day we checked out.
Have a wonderful time!!!

Thanks for all the info - we'll be headed to the Poly Concierge on Nov. 12th - our first Poly stay. I was a little nervous with all the negative posts recently.

Sounds great. I can't wait to get back next month. Thanks for posting!

Thanks so much for the update, and glad you have a wonderful time! We'll be at there on the 7th - can't wait!!
