Well we just got back last night at 10:00pm I had this vacation planned for a year the last few weeks I had been following these boards religously I have to admit I was having panic attacks after reading about the crowd reports and reports about hotel and resturant complaints. I wanted this to be a perfect vacation I was going with people who had never been there and this was a good friends 60th birthday and this was her dream to go. We stayed at the GCH it was wonderful this was my 4th time staying and once again they treated us great I had asked to have balloons in her room when we arrived and was there ever balloons they had 3 big bouques of latex with happy birthday on them and 2 big maylar mickeys a stuffed mickey signed pictures buttons the works! Housekeeping was wonderful they came everyday twice a day but, never actually saw them. Thurs. moring got to the park for MM we got a lot of big attractions in that morning good thing we had lunch at blue bayou and it was very good sat by the water I had read about the negitive service but we had great service. That night we had dinner at Jazz kitchen once again great food and service saw fireworks that night amazing as usal. Pretty crowed but not bad. Friday had character breakfast ay Storytellers good hardly anyone there our rs were at 7:00am so we could head right over to MTTM little more crowed then Thrus. Morning so we got a few more attractions in a by the afternoon crazy went to the pool and relaxed had dinner a Napa Rose which was amazing as always service flawless this has to be the best restuarant in the resort. That night 2 of us went back to the park I've been there 20 times maybe and I have never seen so many people is was depressing we only could make it on a couple of rides because of the crowds.:sad2: Sat morning we did the Segway tour this was the best thing ever we had such a great time your in DCA before it opens and its amazing I highly recommend this my husband who is not crazt about DL loved this he wish would have done it every morning that day we pretty much stayed in DCA had lunch at Wine terricotta once again the food and service was perfect we stayed and watched pixar parade and then went over to disneyland to watch the parade there they were both very good. that night had dinner at storytellers and that was the only dinning disappointment on this trip the food was not very good and they were just plain old busy. I will be posting some pictures with more report details but the main thing I have to say is the crowds were really unbearable but the hotel, food and sevice was really much better then I expected and even better then you would think with how busy they were.

Glad you had a great trip! :goodvibes Thanks to all the promotion about Halloweentime DLR is now even more crowded on weekends. That (and cost) was one of the reasons I decided to buy the cheapest AP this year since I don't like dealing with all the crowds on the weekends. Luckily, DD9 has at least one min. day a month at school and this week she is min. day all week. Plus I don't have a problem taking her out of school every once in a while to go. In fact, we were there on the 14th. Crowds were very manageable that day (Tues.) Plus she is off track in Jan, May, and Sept.-all perfect months to go to DLR.

Can't wait to see your pix.

Can't wait to see pics..Sounds like you were quite pleased with the service, etc at GC!

GC is first choice pic for August vaca....Thinking of splurging, first time in California!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Glad you loved the GC!

We were at the GCH then too! The hotel was lovely - although our room was as far from anything as you could possibly get. The good thing though is we were right by the staircase that takes you out beside the WOD store, so much closer than walking around :woohoo:

The crowds were super crazy though - we probably won't go back in October again. We heard from a couple of CMs that the crowds were higher than anticipated (the hotel was completely booked on Sunday!). We had a message on Saturday evening that the MM for Sunday was cancelled and that we could enjoy it on Monday instead (nice, except we were leaving Sunday evening!).

Great hotel though - LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the conditioner :thumbsup2 (but they don't sell it in the gift shop.... bummer!)

They cancelled MM because of the CHOC Walk on Sunday, but they really should have known beforehand and not cancelled it on Saturday! We still enjoyed Sunday, we just ended up in DTD rather than the parks because our schedule was way off - but we did have fun!
