So this year we decided to try some places that we had never been before, and I found reviews on here super helpful so here you go!

Hollywood & Vine - my kids are 4 and 7 so we always go here for lunch. They love the characters and we've always been reasonably impressed with the food. There's nothing fancy, but it is all good quality and it's lots of fun for the kids.

Hoop de Doo Revue - this was new for us and we had the best time! The fried chicken, ribs, and mashed potatoes were all very good. There's nothing outstanding about the food, but it is very good and the experience was awesome. Great show, the kids were thoroughly entertained, and we definitely plan on going back here.

Cape May - had dinner here because hubby loves seafood. We were not particularly impressed. We're glad we tried it, but there was nothing special about it, the crab legs were stringy and meat didn't come out well (according to my expert DH, I don't eat crab). They did have the best macaroni and cheese out of any buffet we ate at, for whatever that's worth :) The best part of this meal was that we rented surrey bikes and rode around the Boardwalk beforehand, that was fun!

Ohana - this was a first for us and went for breakfast. We hadn't been able to get a reservation and there must have been a last minute cancellation because we found an opening just the day before! We thought the food was great, loved that they bring it to your table (it's always hard to carry a plate for myself and for my 4 year old at typical buffets). Service was pretty good as well. The view was ruined a little by the construction, but that's obviously no reflection on the restaurant and we will definitely come back here to try dinner next time.

Boma - OMG, this place was amazing! I am a very picky eater, and there was plenty of plain but flavorful stuff for me and the kids, as well as lots of more adventurous foods for my husband. Service was awesome, and we will definitely be back here. I think it is our new favorite restaurant.

Tusker House - character lunch. We did this on the first day and it was awesome. Covers most of the main characters (Mickey, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy), food was great (especially the rotisserie chicken and the steak). Only complaint is that we had to wait quite a bit past our reservation time to be seated, and then we missed Mickey while getting our food (he was nowhere in sight when we went up!) We did tell somebody, and they took us to where Mickey was so the kids could see him, which was nice of them.

Crystal Palace - dinner. Another one of our favorites. Kids love the characters (and they've never been into Winnie the Pooh but love seeing them in person, go figure!) Food is very good, pretty standard fare, nothing fancy but good solid quality.

We also did lunch at be Our Guest and it was GREAT! I got the croque monsieur, Dh go tthe roast beef sandwich, kids got grilled cheese and tomato soup (my 7 year is picky about his tomato soup and he loved it). Triple chocolate cupcake was to die for! Kids split the upcake with "the grey stuff" and I tried some of it and wasn't particularly impressed. We walked around the dining rooms after we ate and checked it all out. The entire place is very pretty, but the West Wing where the rose is was very dark and I definitely wouldn't have wanted to eat in there.

As far as quick service meals go, most of them were eaten at our resort (Port Orleans Riverside). Fantastic food, but the slowest and most inefficient service I've ever had at a resort quick service dining area. The amount of time it took to get pasta and kids pizzas was absolutely insane. If you want the make your own pasta, which I did a couple of nights and it was great, you have to wait in line for that and then get in a different line to get the kids pizzas which is 18 inches to your left. Hubby did the "make your own salad" a couple of times and said there was one person working there during peak dinner times. They definitely need to fix their logistics there.

At MK, we had lunch one day at Pecos Bill and it was great! We got there at 11 and it filled up very fast, so get there early! 30 mniutes later and I don't think we would have found a table. We ate at the food trucks at DTD one day for lunch and those were good too. Otherwise most places we went were just the typical hotdog/cheeseburger kind of places. All perfectly fine, just nothing worth writing about :)

Hope this is helpful to someone!

Thanks for the review! I'm going to see if we can get into Hollywood & Vine when we visit.

So helpful! We are eating at a lot of the places you ate and they are new to us so the info is great!

Great reviews. Glad you all had so much success with the character meals especially

We ate dinner there. We could only get a 4:45 reservation and so it wasn't too busy yet and everything was wonderful!

I think i need a couple nights at AKL just to eat my way through Sanaa and Boma...everyone always speaks so highly of both.

We like 'Ohana breakfast, too. You should definitely try dinner!! It's our favorite, and our only "must" do. We preferred BOG dinner to lunch (ate both in the West Wing, actually), love CP for breakfast, and are trying Tusker House for the first time this coming trip.

Thanks for the reviews!! I've been craving Disney food all dayyyyy...this just made me want it even more, LOL!!

Thanks for your review! We had a great time at Hoop Dee Doo as well!
