We had a split stay between AKL and GF. Our bands worked great!! Loved that it worked on both hotel rooms, our dining, magical express, photopass, getting in the park and fastpass. It was all so seamless! I was able to change fast pass times several times on a whim with no issues. Not having to run to the fast pass machines was awesome!

Downside thoughts: I was able to book 3 big rides before they changed it and it worked great. 3 was enough. But I would be upset if it was only 1.

With the old FP your come back times were at any incriment. 11:26 11:32 12:01 etc.... these are all 11:05 11:25 12:55 etc... so we experienced mass amounts of people coming at the same time instead of spread out times. I'm not upset about it. I'm sure they will get the bugs worked out in the long run. Just my experience this week.

Over all we were very happy with it all! Can't wait to see what and how they smooth out!

It's interesting that everyone seems to have different experiences with the lines. We never had to wait to scan our magic bands last week for a ride except at TSM. And that was because so many people were confused that they were in the FP line. There was a large non-English speaking group that didn't seem to understand. But we did have a much longer wait for TSM and Peter Pan was mobbed too.

We were very pleased as well.

I'm thinking the difference in one minute increments vs. five minute increments. The five minutes would have people more likely to come in in clumps if they having been waiting for their window.

OP... I'm glad you had a positive experience.

Just got back tonight and loved MB and FP+ too. We experienced no problems, IT wise, and what delays did happen were guest driven. The CMs did a good job of crowd dispersal as far as those types that lurk around the FP entrance until it's their turn.

Not saying this is a bad thing but there were many foreign tourists this time around. Even a couple of BTGs!:scared: Also a few big school groups- by and large, they were well behaved.

One old man was beside himself because I got put into his row as a single rider on Soarin'( my sis is petrified of heights- she won't ride). I don't speak much Spanish, but I speak enough to know he was ticked off and wanted to sit with family only. He tried to convince the CM only to get shot down. :rotfl2:Then, he couldn't figure out the seatbelt. I ended up buckling him in AND undoing his seatbelt afterward. It was so weird and kind of awkward, to tell you the truth. He begrudgingly thanked me afterward. :)

I'm not understanding the difference in "come back" times between FP and FP+.

before if you would put your key to the world card in at FP at 10:02AM you FP come back time would be for example 1:02. Now with FB+ your time to come back and ride will always be 1:00, 1:05, 1:15 etc...

It wasn't that big a deal we just noticed some backing up to get in on those times instead of a constant flow. But as another poster said they never even noticed.

I have faith all the bugs will be worked out!! Still a positive experience over all!!

Sorry, this is incorrect. Legacy FP uses 5-minute increments also. I have never seen nor heard of a FP with a return time that didn't end with 0 or 5.

As a matter of fact, I just pulled a Legacy FP out of my wallet that was pulled at 1:16 pm and it has a return time of 1:55 thru 2:55.:thumbsup2

Yep.

I did see what the OP was talking about on a recent trip, though I saw it on more than just TSM.

A lot of people would simply show up at the same time. I think that with paper FP's it was easy to see both start and end times and recognize that you could go at any time in between, but with FP+ many people may only "remember" their start time and so that is when they show up. Like the cognitive recall of "1PM" versus the visual "between 1PM and 2PM".

I just happened to look at a FP on my bulletin board that I didn't happen to use for Kilimanjaro Safari on March 29, 2009. The return time is 3:21 to 4:21 and another Fastpass would be available after 3:21.

This FP was pulled last week by my SIL. If you go online and look up pics of FP it appears the older ones around 2009 and 2010ish had some weird return times.

It never fails. ;)

I rarely say "always" and "never" because whenever I do, someone comes along and proves me wrong.

I do think it's safe to say these are either extremely rare or no longer the case. In either event, I don't think there was ever much clumping of users on a 5-minute period.

You must be mistaken. A long time experienced Dis'er who posts all the time to provide answers said that he has never seen a legacy FP that didnt end in a 0 or 5. Please go back and confirm.

People should take note when experienced Dis'ers give a quick absolute answer. They are not always right. People should be especially mindful when it comes to their predictions on matters like the whole FP+ system as well. Be careful to separate their speculation from actual FACT

I think intelligent people here can tell the difference between posters who try to help others with advice and those whose entire posting history, as both UNCFanatik and as Tozer, can be accurately summed up with the single phrase "nanny nanny boo boo".

Goodnight (forever), UNCFanatik.
