What a great time my husband and myself had. We stayed at the Beach Club Villas - beautiful! The weather was cool, rainy some days, but mostly sunny. Floridians were complaining how "cold" it was - high 60's!! We flew home to Boston last night to 15 degrees!! What a bummer!! Neither one of us wanted to leave. We spent time before going to the airport eating an ice cream at Ghiradelli's at a table overlooking the water, and the new Saratoga DVC. The sun was warm - so relaxing!!

Anyway, I tried for the first time ever!!! - Big Thunder Mountain - did you hear me screaming and laughing?? My kids - 21 and 17, who wanted no part of this trip don't believe I did this!! Maelstrom - can't believe I was too "chicken" to go on this. Aladdin's Magic Carpet - really cute.

We saw all the things my kids never wanted to see - Beauty and the Beast Show, Tiki Bird Show, walk-through exhibits. It was great.

Crowds consisted of very young kids with parents - tons of strollers everywhere. Always someone tired and crying. Saw a mother breast-feeding her tiny infant in line for Peter Pan. Give me a break!! I was amazed at the amount of really tiny infants - do people just leave the delivery room and head to disney? School-age very few - teens - not too many during the week, and lots of retired older people.

No lines for the big rollercoaster type rides. Gridlock in Fantasyland, though.

All in all a wonderful, relaxing getaway for 5 days. Would go again this time of year in an instant!!

Sounds like you had a great time! I'm going to try Big Thunder Mountain for the first time next month! Was it scary?:earseek:

Big V,

Thunder Mountain has no big hills or big drops, but it flies going around the curves and tight turns - that's what took my breath away. I just felt at times I was going to "fall out" the side - which, of course, won't happen. I was laughing throughout most of it - just surprised how fast this thing travels. Definately would do it again though!!

And yes, this cold is very depressing - especially since I won't be back at DW anytime soon!!

Sounds like fun! I've done "Splash Mountain" and "Test Track" already, so it should be no big deal. I want to try Mission Space too, but I don't know if I have enough "nerve" to do it!

Glad to hear you had a great time. I hope there are plenty of seniors there when we go (one week from today) so that my 80 year old father won't feel out of place. He thinks it's just for kids!

glad you had a great time...also glad you finally tried BTMR, it's one of my favorites as well....any chance you're gonna do a review of BCV? Im taking dw there in June for surprise 15th anniversary present....would like to find out as much as I can about BCV.....

KevinD65,

We enjoyed the BCV's very much. Beautiful theming, convenient to just about everything. We walked to Epcot, MGM, took the boat to MGM, strolled around the Boardwalk. We had the 1-BR unit which was nice and spacious. It was great because if I went to bed earlier than my husband, he could watch his own tv out in the living room area. Shower area is closed off from the toilet area, so 2 people could be using the bathroom at the same time. Having the full kitchen area was great, but to tell the truth, we never cooked anything on the stove, so if you're thinking the studio unit, I think you'll be pleased with that. It has a micro, fridge, sink, etc. I wouldn't hesitate in getting the studio next time. The only drawback is, if one person goes to bed earlier than the other...you don't have the separate bedroom...
