Yes you read it correctly.
It was a miserable trip. We were in room 3311 the room was nice however . EVERY MORNING NO HOT WATER!! Not kidding.
We took cold showers every morning. We called the front desk and housekeeping and they just told us that it was because everyone was taking a shower at the same time. Well DUH!! When we arrived on the 14th, I dealt with a very rude cast member at check in. I talked to the managers and that didn't do much good.

I was disappointed in the christmas decorations at the poly. We went to the GF on Christmas night and wished I would of stayed there for the decorations.

I have stayed at many disney resorts before and this had to be the worse experience.

Oh and I got food poision. Still sick from that.
Well I'll cut it short right now.

They didn't offer any kind of compensation (discount, upgrade)? I think I would have been tempted on the 2nd or 3rd day to "take a fit" as my four year old would say!:bounce:

Nope they didn't offer anything. I'm just not very happy with the situation at all. I'm tempted to email, or snail a letter down to them. For the amount of money we spend on the room, we should of had hot water.

At this point, I don't want to go back to disney for A LONG TIME. My husband was in shock when I said that last night coming home from the airport. Between the snotty person that started the trip off wrong, the manager that didn't really seem to care, the water issue and me getting sick. I still haven't held anything in since then. (I haven't weight myself yet, but I'm guessing I lost about 10 lbs because of being sick).

I am sorry you had such a rotten trip. If you don't mind me asking - where did you get the food poisoning from?

Well the last thing I ate was Mac & Cheese at LTT on the 20th at MVMCP then I got sick with in a few hours after that.

I was just speaking with someone who got very ill fromthe water. Do you think it was that?

What building were you in at the Polynesian? We stayed in Hawaii Dec. 19-25 and never had problems with hot water, either morning or evening. Sorry you didn't enjoy your stay.

Sorry about the bummer trip!

FYI true food poisoning should occur pretty close to 6 hours after you have eaten the 'bad' food. Sometimes as long as 8, but very unlikely to be less than 6.

And too bad if it was LTT...that was our favorite meal on our last trip!

Hope you are feeling better...

Be careful or they may try to charge you for their successful weight loss program!:p

Seriously- I never would have left without speaking to the hotel manager and settling this lack of hot water issue either the first day it happened or if not by second day I would have been moved up to a better situation or out of the hotel.

This is just more of the sort of thing we are hearing and supporting my decision to dump my Disney stock a year ago.

Wow! I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad trip :(. I'm typing this from the Poly and our trip has been quite good. We're in Aotearoa (room 12xx) since 12/23 and we have not had any hot water problems at all. Also, the staff has been first rate. But, I have had grumpy CMs at other resorts ... anyone can have a bad day.

IMO, no hot water is not acceptable. If you asked to be moved and the manager didn't move you you should WRITE (not email) a letter. I wonder if you were "marked" as a kvetcher when you complained about the rude CM so any and all additional complaints were ignored.

So sorry to hear about your trip but I would write a letter or email Disney and tell them the things you just posted. Disney wants you to come back so they will not be happy to hear your problems at the Poly. One year we did not get good service at the GF and I wrote to the GF manager when I got home and I received a free night at the GF on our next trip to DW!
Write that letter and Good Luck.

YIKES!!! So sorry to hear this!! :( We just added a night to our ressies!! We will be at the poly next sat!!
Nothing worse then being sick on vacation!!!! :(
We are so excited to try this hotel, I hope this was a isulated case!

So sorry to hear about your experience at the Polynesian. We had a problem with the hot water at CBR and complained about it. I was told it was do to a broken boiler. It happened the last two days of our trip. My DH complained about it again at check out and the CM had a log of all the people who complained about lack of hot water. Our room was discounted $32.00 a night.

No hot water puts me in a very bad mood and yes, it can make for a miserable trip. While I liked CBR very much, it made me think twice about spending the extra money to stay on site.

No, I don't recall drinking any of the water there. We had bottle water. I think it was the food. I was the only one to get sick and I'm the only one that had mac and cheese. The water does smell and according to my 7 yr old it tasted bad.

IT was from 6 to the last parade during the MVMCP- and I have had the gastric bypass so food goes thur me faster because of the surgery.

I can't wait to feel better.

we were in Fuji, we had the christmas lights on our balcony you could see them from the marina area.
We were made to believe the whole poly was like with the water. I will be complaining now that I hear we were the only one to have it ( so far to hear anyways).

Thanks to everyones inputs. Rob ( dh) was going to complain at check out, but the girls were fighting and we just wanted to leave. We did have a very nice mousekeeper.

I will be writing disney. Right now I don't want to go back to Disney. I was so displeased. My son was talking last night on the way home how he already missed mickey and couldn't wait to see him again. I was like well it won' t be for a very long time.

Sorry to hear about your trip. :( But, thanks for sharing your experience with us!

The hot/cold was reversed. At first I did not think that we had hot water because when I turned on the faucet (sort of 2 o'clock) it was a little cool so I kept bumping it toward the red (normally hot) It became very cold. I shut it off and tried the sink. Hot water readily available. Playing around with the faucet I realized that I naturally skipped the all blue area assuming it was cold. I had to tell all family members about it so they would find the hot water.

This may not make sense, but what I am saying is that it is very possible you had hot water but it was tricky to locate it.

I had a couple of negative CM experiences myself. One who was more blah than negative and another who was simply rude. The first one got a bit friendlier, but the second I cut short and took my situation to another one who immediately handled it properly. We still had a good trip, and were not at all disturbed by noise in Hawaii building. Stayed GV near the far end away from lounge. "Walk" was nothing and probably helped keep the noise to nothing. Enjoyed the lounge tremendously but were gone from morning 'til later at night and missed the evening offerings. Managed to partake of the later night desserts, though, while watching the fireworks!

I hate to say this, but we also just had a MISERABLE trip at the Poly. We stayed there Dec. 6th and 7th. This was our 26th trip to the World, but first and last time at the Poly. On the first night there our 3 year old son woke up at 1:00 am vomiting all over the bed. without a doubt we needed fresh linens and towels. We stripped the bed, and I took them in the bathroom to try and wash them out, while DH tried to call HouseKeeping. TRIED to call Housekeeping..for an HOUR!! Couldn't even get anyone to answer the phone. Finally we tried to call the Front Desk. Guess what no answer there either!! After about an hour and a half, at 2:30 in the morning DH got dressed and walked up to the Main building , in the rain no less, to try and find somebody. Nobody was there, but he could hear people talking from the room behind then front desk, so he called to get there attention. When the man came out my DH explained what had been going on, and then asked to speak with a manager. For which he got a reply that , "Nobody knew where the Manager was, he was just out and about somewhere." He did at least get Housekeeping to send us some fresh linens.
The next morning DH went to see the Manager again. He spoke with a very nice lady that apologized repeatedly ,and honestly seemed annoyed at what had gone on the night before. She said there was NO excuse for that, plus that when a guest asks to speak with a Manager, Cast members are instructed to RADIO the Manager at once!!!
She offered to take the charges off my CC for the 2 nights we were there, but we had paid in cash. DH told her that he was not trying to get anything by complaining, except better service next time. She still kept trying to get him to tell her something that she good do for us, but DH still refused. She later had 8 ,1-day Park Hopper Tickets good for 10 Years, sent to our room. Now we weren't looking for anything, but come on we're not CRAZY!! We kept those.
That was soooo nice for her to do that, especially knowing she didn't have to, but we still won't be returning to the Poly.
