We were there using the Discovery Magic Package. For sure this package allowed us to try if not the best, but many delicious food in the park. We used 2 wishes per day, one for breakfast and one for dinner. I know the breakfast is cheap so we have chosen some fancy restaurants for dinner. Also it was our first time being at these restaurants. So we have no prior experience to compare with.
Breakfast
Ohana --character buffet
Didn't have a PS and the wait was only 10 min for 9am seating. Food were brought to our table in a wok by waiter. There were scramble eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuit, mickey waffle, and fruit. A pineapple bun was given to us as the hostess led us to the table. Character interaction was great.
Chef Mickey's--character buffet
Had a 845am PS. The food was kinda cold to me. Lots of variety though compared to Ohana. Character interaction was great, too. Didn't take the family picture.
Hollywood and Vine --character buffet
No PS for us again. The wait was about 15 mintues. This is my favourite breakfast among all three
. Great selection, great food (hot and fresh), great character interaction.
Dinner
Jiko (3 1/2 stars out of 4)
My DH thinks it is the most beautiful restaurant among all places we have been to. We were seating by the window where we can see the streams outside. The waiter was friendly and gave us a honeymoon card at the end. We had the sampler appetizer for 2. My DH had the shrimp and I had the monkfish. For desert, he had the sorbet and I had the chocolate symphony. That was lots of chocolate doses for us. The spices is exotic.
Chefs De France (3 stars out of 4)
We ordered the mussle and lobster bisque as appetizer. DH had the salmon and I had the tenderloin beef. That was the most delicious beef I have ever had. The salmon dish tasted funny, in a bad way. For desert, I had the puff with ice cream (yummy!) Forgot what DH ordered, but it had a mark of 100 years magic on the chocolaty pastry. Too sweet for us. The waitress was okay.
Cindy's Royal Table (2 stars out of 4)
We wore the bride and groom ear hat there. So they dressed up our table a bit and sat us by the window where we see the fantasyland. We had mussle & crab cakes for appetizer. Prime Ribs and rock shrimp for entree. The shrimp was sooooooo dry! Had sorbet and walnut icecream for desert. We didn't like the food there, but like the atmosphere there.
Brown Derby (4 stars out of 4)
We love this restaurant!!!!
We had caeser salad and cremini mushroom for starter. grouper and salmon for center stage. Creme Brulee and chocolate torte as the grand finale.
Lunch (3 1/2 stars out of 4)
Wolfgang Puck Cafe
DH wanted to dine at Downtown Disney on the last day of the vacation. So we went there for lunch. It is a nice restaurant. We had the sashimi sald and eggplant to start. DH had mahi mahi daily special and I had the salmon. For desert, we had the warm soufle cake with chocolate ice cream. The salmon was okay but the rest tasts fantastic!!!
There you go. Lots of food for us indeed. But it was a wonderful experience. Will go there using the Discovery Magic plan again.
Any question?
