Just got back from the 2/1/04 Wonder, what I learned..

We were on the 2/1 Wonder as well. I pre-packed my tip envelopes with 20% more than the recommended tips. Unfourtnately, I wound up opening the envelopes and taking the extra back from our dining servers. I NEVER expected to do that. It was our 4th cruise (so that is why I planned on 20% more, service had always been incredible). Our servers just weren't with it (as we are used to). They messed up our orders more than once, we would be first to sit down and last to be served...they never picked up on the fact that we asked them not to bring anything for our 8month old...they brought her drinks every day.

The stateroom host was WONDERFUL, and he got the most benefit from what the dining room servers were lacking.

The seas bothered me terribly the first night. I was HIGHLY irritated that they had to close the mickey pool for 2+ hours to clean it after there were 2 yes TWO accidents in it. So because someone wanted to break the rules...it ruined the afternoon at the pool for the rest of the kids.

All in all it was a great trip...but I think we'll stick to the land trips with DVC until the kids are a bit bigger.

I saw someone remove an infant from the Mickey ear then place the kid in the Mickey Pool. I also saw another person pull a kid out of the mickey pool, change his swimming diaper then put them back in the pool.

Some people have no consideration.

I am leaving in 3 weeks and am in your room Billinanz - I know you had to go through a lot to get those Palo reservations early and I, too, called and they said I would talk with my concierge once one board so I thought that was it until I began reading this board today. How did you get through to them to make those reservations? Could you book spa early or did you have to wait for those reservations until you met on board. What time was your concierge meeting? (We'll arrive about 1:00 at the terminal) It's amazing to me that they really don't tell you much at all about concierge service in the literature or the docs.

So, I don't need the over-the-door shoe holders? What about a noise maker? Anything else I should know? :chat:

Send me an email and I will get you the concierge desk to call.

No, there is a TON of space to put stuff in that room. I left my shoe hanger thing on the closet rod, never used it.

Its such a good room, I booked it for next Feb.

We just returned from this 2/1 Wonder cruise too (to snow and sleet back in MA, ugh). We did the bridge tour and it was interesting to find out that the seas the first night were actually over 15ft (a bit worse than they were reporting to us-- everyone kept telling us how unusual that was). It seems that the stablizers helped quite a bit; apparently without them it would have been 90% worse (yikes!).

We were at the bridge tour too...it was awsome...definatley recommend doing that....it was a nice break in the day!!!
Theresa was a hoot! she definately made something that I thought was going to be boring fun!

We were in room 7122-it was a great room too!!!

Bill...Land and sea is AWSOME!! We found that 3 days on land was perfect...but I still felt like I missed some stuff...all the more reason to go back!
