Just got back from seeing the movie Troy

Very good movie. It was an epic and I groaned at some of the music and timing of the scenes, kinda reminded me of Gladiator in certain places. But the movie was still great. If you liked Braveheart, Gladiator etc then you'll love this movie. By far my fav character that Brad Pitt has played. Even better than his character in Fight Club IMHO. I give it a thumbs up.

I also give this movie a big thumbs up. Brad Pitt did a great job bringing depth to his character and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked Eric Bana. I had not seen him in anything else but I'll be sure to watch for him in the future!

DH and I just came back from seeing it also and really liked it. I don't get what all the reviewers were talking about...most of the ones I saw were not very positive.

It is entertaining and with Orlando Bloom, Eric Bana and Brad (looks great in a skirt)Pitt in it, well, what more could a girl want???

DH said he'd bet I wouldn't throw Achilles out of bed, even dead. He's right.

I saw it tonight with some of my friends and we all really liked it, but I didn't think it was as great as I expected it to be. I guess it just didn't hold my attention as well as I would have liked it to or something. Also, we read The Iliad this year for English, so I expected to have some idea about what was going on...it's amazing how much I forgot in a few months, lol. But some of the things in the movie were completely different from how I thought they should be from reading the book. Oh well.

I really loved Eric Bana as Hector...I think he was my favorite character. Although Brad Pitt and Orlando Bloom were definitely not bad to look at!

I thought they did such a good job with it. Who cares what the critics say, everything they like, I don't like anyway.

For those of you who've see it--my question is how much of an "R" is it? Is the rating for sex, , nudity, violence, or what....we have a DD 14 and some of the Rs I'll let her see and some I won't.

I don't think it is any worse than you'd see in an episode of Friends. It shows them in bad, but just kissing. The violence isn't too bad either. It would definetly be a PG 13 if it wasn't for the violence. I personally think that the violence was nothing near other movies you will see. I would feel very comfortable allowing a 14 year old girl see it. I see PG 13 movies that I wouldn't DREAM of taking a girl that age to though. I really, really liked the movie. It was one of the best ones I've seen in a long time!

(Unless I'm forgetting someting, that is all I can think of that would make it an "R" film)

(I thought it was real neat seeing how different times were back then too)
