Just got back from seeing the Mickeys

We just got back from seeing some of the 100 Mickeys that are traveling throughout the US. We saw 9 of the 15 that are here in Portland; we may go see the rest tomorrow. (some are downtown, some are at a large mall) My son was SO excited cause he loves hockey, and the Detroit Red Wings Mickey by Jerry Bruckheimer was there; as were Rosie O'Donnell's Mickey, Ming Na's Mickey, the ESPN Mickey, the tourist Mickey (my fave---he even had a pin lanyard), Paul Wylie's Mickey, and Wayne Brady's Mickey. I will go study the Tech boards to see if I can figure out how to post a picture in my siggie.

I'm glad you got to see some of the Mickeys. I was lucky enough to get to see most of them at WDW in December, and I just have to say that all the other Mickeys were better than Rosie O'Donnell's. I don't have a picture, but I remember her paint-splattered Mickey being the ONLY one that was just plain awful. All the others were great.

KristaTX-I didn't quite "get" Rosie's Mickey either. I could see she did paper mache of her kids and other goodies on her Mickey, but then to douse it with yellow spattered paint....strange. And some of her paper mache stuff was starting to peel off. The other Mickeys all looked real sharp!

Maybe Rosie did hers herself and the other Mickey "artists" designed theirs but let a real artist do the actual work. I don't know. But I could have done a better job than Rosie did. It looked like she was mad at Mickey (or someone) when she did it.

Took about 10 Pics of some of my Favorites, and blew up a few to 8x10 and have 2 hanging in my Bathroom.

I saw them in WDW in Dec. Well worth it to go see if they are in your neck of the woods!

We got to see all 100 of them when they were at WDW as well. Very cool!

we saw them at mk in dec as well, loved the texan mickey with the lone star shorts. our ds (2 1/2) called the rosie satue and the other splattered one "mickey a mess".

i looked at all of the pictures on the disney site and noticed that ms. jackson's statue has been replaced, not sure what took its place because we didn't see all 75 at mk, but hers is nolonger part of the collection and there are still 75 total. just wondering if anyone knows who took her place.

we do plan to visit when they come to dfw area.
