We just got back from staying a week on Mission Beach. We did SeaWorld and Lego land. Anyone out there planning a trip need any info???

Did you happen to do the breakfast with Shamu? Do you know if you can bring outside food into either park?

I am not very good with quotes, but I will try to answer the questions...

We did not do the breakfast with Shamu. Sorry. We also didn't bring any food in the parks so I can't help you there. Gosh, lot of help I was there, huh??? :)

As far as Legoland, our kids are 7 and 6. It was just at the limit for them. I don't think they would enjoy it after this year. I am sure for some kids, that is the right age, but mine seemed a little bored. How old are your kids? There are a few rides that they liked and my son liked the lego figures (ie Darth Vader, Indiana Jones, Spongebob) but that was it. We were there from 12 to 5 and they were really ready to go by 3 or so.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help!

It's okay. I really appreciate you taking the time to ask and reply.

Our kids our 13, 10 and 6 and all 3 love legos. It's been a long time since we've had a birthday or Christmas without legos being on their wish list. They can spend an hour or more at the Legostore itself.

How long were the lines at Legoland?

Also, what attraction did your kids enjoy the most?

Which attraction was your least favorite?

Was the new Lost Kingdom Adventure open and was it good?

Thanks!

I agree, my kids love the lego store....but that is another thing all together. There were not too many lines...The longest was a half hour for the SkyTower Ride. We didn't care for the Coastersaurus. But we did like the Technic Coaster.

None of us really liked the Lost Kingdom Adventure. It is along the same lines as the Buzz Lightyear ride at Disney. That one is much better.

I will say that the adults liked the Knight's Tournament ride. Make sure you try level 5! That was the highlight of our day!

They did like the models of stuff, but honestly this park would NOT entertain your kids in my opinion. Unless of course they are scared of going on rides...

How long were the lines at Legoland? We were there June 12 and June 15. Lines were around 45 minutes for lots of things, very few things had shorter lines. Again, we felt we were wasting time...

Also, what attraction did your kids enjoy the most? they liked the fire training show and the Mini Land (not a ride, the models of places).

Which attraction was your least favorite? almost everything - we would finish a ride and my kids would say, "that was it?" Most rides lasted less then 1 1/2 minutes.

Was the new Lost Kingdom Adventure open and was it good? It's an Egyptian Lego version of Buzz Lightyear, BUT the targets are SMALL, the scoring is way low (our scores ranged from 40 pts to 410 pts) and it was short (maybe 5 minutes max). We waited in line about an hour and felt very cheated.

LegoLand is very lax about caring if you bring in food. I always pack my backpack with my DD's lunch and mine when we go. We find a bench in the shade and I pull out the bagels, grapes and beverages. Never had a problem with being told it isn't allowed. I always have my water bottles on the outside of the back pack for all to see, and again, never a problem!!

I have heard SW is much tighter although when DD was 2 and we used to go all the time, I always packed an insulated lunch box with our meal, and had no issues. I hear it is stricter now!!

Oh, and the rides are pretty lame, but my DD who loves ToT and the Rock and Roll Coaster at DS, still merrily rides the helicoptor ride for toddlers at LL, so the enjoyment depends on the kid. During Spring Break, I went to LL with a 10 and 12 year old boys and they were having the absolute time of their lives. Neither was into rides much, but found stuff to excite them at every turn. They spent a good hour making and racing lego racers!!

I agree that the new section is pretty sad, the Buzz LIghtyear wannabe ride falls FLAT in my opinion, but the kids seemed quite thrilled!!

So, everyone has a different experience. If it wasn't such an expensive park, I'd say EVERYONE should go at least once!! AMY
