I went to the DR to get allergy medication cuse it would be coverd by my inserence however it came with the price of being treated like a second class citizen and I was told to go back next week after I get blood work done and deal with being treated like a 2ed classes citizen again next week can't wait so don't want to go back

What happened to make you think you were being treated like a 2nd class citizen????

I went to the DR to get allergy medication because it would be covered by my insurance. However it came with the price of being treated like a second class citizen. I was told to come back next week after I get blood work done. I don't want to deal with being treated like a 2nd. class citizen again next week. Just can't wait, so I don't if I want to go back or not.

You can either get the blood work and see what the dr. has to offer you or get a new dr. I know our doctors will not just prescribe a medication because we ask. Plus you may have an infection and not allergies. If so, the allergy medication would not work. Either way, I hope you feel better.

What, this makes no sense?:confused3

Be happy your mom and dad's insurance covers your doctor visits, your blood work and your medication. Not everyone can say the same.

One more thing ... spell check is your friend.

You know, I often think we read too much into other people's reactions. Maybe, she was just having a bad day or too much work. You assume it is because you are covered by SSI. Did she say anything specifically to you about your SSI coverage? Let it go. It isn't worth getting worked up over.

It was just the way the nurse treated me. She just had this attitude. I am coverd by SSI.

Obviously you are not feeling well if you were at the doctors and it is very easy to feel slighted when you are under the weather. As I said before, the doctor has a reason for the blood work before just handing over the medication. Trust me, you don't want to be taking medicine that will not help. Maybe a nice afternoon rest will help you feel better, or a long hot bath. Also, make sure to get the blood work done ASAP so that the doctor can prescribe what you really need sooner.

txs and maybe I won't have to see the DR after I get the blood work done

How does the nurse know you're on SSI? :confused3 My DH is on SSDI (disability) and if he doesn't tell you, you'd never know it.

Maybe her attitude has nothing to do with SSI. Maybe she's got her own personal issues, or hates college students, or is overwhelmed by the volume of patients she has to see this fall. Of maybe she's just a jerk!

Anyway, try not to take it personally unless she specifically said soemthing to you about your "special" insurance or made reference to your parentage or skin color.

I agree- the nurse might have been having an off day or frankly, her personality just might be lacking all the time. Next time I saw her I would be extra nice and kill her with kindness.

Don't let her attitude bother you.
