Hi everyone. Just got back from a two-night stay in a two-bedroom at BCV.

It truly is a lovely resort. We stayed at the Yacht Club when if first opened 10 years ago, and just fell in love with the ambience and location so near Epcot. The Yahtsmen Steakhouse is our favorite restaurant at Disney. We were thrilled DVC opened at the Beach Club so we could return; the Yacht/Beach Club Resort had gotten too pricey for us (which is why we bought DVC).

We were in room 178, which is quite a haul from the main building. In fact, it's on the very end, facing the parking lot. But the view was still nice (a canal, greenery and the rest of the villas).

Our home resort is Old Key West, and our first impression was that that BCV rooms were small, especially the kitchen and living area. But it's all relative; friends who were joining us were just thrilled because they normally stay at the All-Star Resorts. They thought it was all great, especially since they could take their kids easily over to the Boardwalk.

My DH was less impressed: He didn't think there was enough decor, he didn't like the dining setup or that the lights from the parking lot were hard to keep out of the room at night. He also said we'd bring a nightlight the next time so you could get to the bathroom at night without turning on the overhead lights, which were quite bright. (We were trying to make sure our 7-month-old didn't wake up.)

Overall, a very nice resort, awesome location, but it didn't make me want to add on there, in spite of how much we like the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. But we'll certainly stay there again (7-month window willing). SAB is hard to beat.

We are going to be at BCV in Oct. and have a two bedroom. How are the balconies? Is there just one or are there two? I requested an upper floor knowing requests are just that but thought it might be quieter if no one is overhead. Can hardly wait. Our home resort is OKW and I have been thinking the pictures I have seen don't impress me much at BCV but since I won't be in the room all that much (I hope) think SAB and the location will make up for it.
Do they offer any discounts on water craft or bike rentals?
All in all any trip to DVC is better than just about anything else I can think of so know the trip will be great.

We just returned last Monday from the BCVs. We were in room 378, last room closest to the fire exit stairs. We were in a dedicated two bedoom and had only a very small balcony off the living room. There wasn't a balcony off the master or second bedroom. I did like the location in that it was very quiet on the end, but the view of the parking lot left a lot to be desired.

Our group did find all the bathroom doors amusing and we afraid that someone would get lost during the night so we just left the light on in the *toliet room* and closed the door part way. That solved the night light problem.

All in all we had a wonderful time and we already have plans to return over Easter and in Aug of 03 for Drum Corp finals!

The balconies seem to be different, depending on the room. All the ground floor rooms, where we were, had small balconies with two chairs and a very small table. Our two bedroom had 3 balconies like this, one for each bedroom and one off the living room.

But other rooms on upper floors seem to have just one small one, rooms on the corner seem to have really big balconies, and some seemed to have really long balconies stretching the length of a two bedroom.

One thing we did notice -- we got a lot of welcome homes! I know earlier posters said they didn't get this as much. We certainly did.

Welcome to the DIS boards, jodifla! Come back often to share future trip experiences and opinions. :D

As for the night light, I'll bet BCV has the same thing as VWL. At VWL, the light on the microwave (that illuminates the space below it) has two or three settings....it gets dimmer each time you touch it (like a 3-power light bulb). The lowest setting before it goes off is very low and worked great as a night light for the living room area.

That doesn't help much for the master bedroom, but I know for us with somewhat older children, we won't be packing the night lights any more.

At OKW there is a night light on the hair dryer. Do they not have those at BCV?

You are right, Judith, about the hairdryer. I forgot about that because one of the women in our party unplugged it to plug in her curling iron and never plugged the hairdryer back in!
