Just got back from AKL ...!*!*!!*!*!*!*

Hi everyone I just got back from AKL................well all I have to say this was the BEST resort I have stayed at in WDW....this resort was so nice.......loved everything about it and have no complaints except for mouse keeping, they didn't come to my room on the 2nd day untill 3:30, I saw the mousekeeper in the hallway at about 3:30 and our room was next, told her not to bother just needed clean towels.

check in was fast, we booked a pool view the location was great, near everything. By all the reviews I read about how large the resort is I was worried about how much walking to every place in the hotel, I think we had the perfect locaton becasue we were close to everything. The lobby was beautiful.

Saw many animals......my son loved it.

we spent our mornings and early afternoons at the pool.....it was great very relaxing...........I would be happy to answer any questions.

The room was great we were on the 4th floor pool view, rm 4014, we were right over the lobby were Boma was and Jiko. It was a great location. When we walked out of our room the elevator on the left we could of taken it down to the Lobby, the elevator on the right we could of taken it down to the pool, Jiko or Mara.

We saw so many animals Zebra, giraff, wilderbeast different Birds, antalope, flamingo's and others I can't pernounce or spell there name, but I have to say they were always there to see.

For future reference...you can call housekeeping before you leave the room in the morning and ask them to do your room before, say, 11:AM. We always do that and have always come back to a clean room.

Thanks....I should of done that...and I thought about it, but I didn't want to be such a pain in the BUT.....I still gave a nice tip at the end of my stay , I guess I just brushed it off.

Great advice. We leave the room early and return after lunch for a swim or whatever. I hate to return to unmade beds. And, I don't like leaving the room because the maid is ready to clean. I'll give this a try. Thanks.

I had a great stay there last Feb, and it was a great experience. I was at Uzima Savannah and it was so net to see all the Animals!

UGH! We have WL booked for Jan but just yesterday I started thinking about switching to AKL. We've stayed there several times and agree that it's an amazing resort.

Glad to hear you had a good time. We had a good experience in October of 2005 on our honeymoon. We upgraded (at cost) to a savannah room. It was a very nice resort, and a pleasant stay. It's on my short list when we go back next October. I don't know if we will spring for a savannah room again. Does anyone know what the likelihood that the resorts will honor a request to stay in the same room as we did in 2005? Assuming I can remember the room number. I AM getting old ya'll...

Just an FYI for everyone............. When tipping Mousekeeping, do it daily rather than at the end of your stay, as you don't always have the same Mousekeeper everyday!

( We make Mousekeeping envelopes and leave one out each day - that way the Mousekeeper cleaning that day gets the tip.)

Why are you considering not booking a savannah room again? I am thinking about upgrading from a pool view to a savannah view. Is it worth the money???
