The bounce sheets worked!

Just thought you'd like to know. We're definitely bringing them to WDW!

Kris

I'm glad they worked. B-U-T what did they work for???? You used them for _____????

They ward off mosquitos. I was handing them out like crazy to everyone in the group (our church went camping together) and when it was time to go home, between the 40 or so of us, only 3 of us had any bites.

Pretty impressive!

Kris

Very cool...we'll have to give them a try. I hate mosquitoes!!!!
My hubby uses dryer sheets for everything...he'll be excited to here that there is yet another use for them.

YEAA !!

Glad to hear they worked... now if I can only get DH to use em... NOPE he went and bought Coleman Mosquitios deleto's.. several of them... his boss has a giant one $$$$
They actually worked.. after I read the phamplet (which he tossed lol) says they last for 30 days and they have re-placement inserts... huh uh.. bounce is looking cheaper every second :)

he's the one who gets bitten big time... so let's see :) hehehe

So how do you use the bounce sheets? Do you carry it with you, do you rub them on your skin? Do you sit them out near you? How does it work?

Thanks,
DJ

I saw a few people rubbing, but that's it. I also tucked them into the little pouch of the tent to keep the tent clear, and heard not a single buzzing all night long.

Bear in mind, this was a rainy, drizzly night; I would have expected plenty of mosquitos. For the two or three people who did get bites, they got plenty!!

I was impressed. I particularly liked not having to rub stuff onto my little ones' skin!

Kris

Thanks! I never heard of this! I wish I knew about this last month when I was working at Girl Scout camp and all of us seem to end up with hundreds of bites!

Oh well, now I know. I really appreciate the tip!
DJ

We used the Outdoor Fresh scented ones (it seemed appropriate , *S*)....I don't recall reading whether it mattered which were used.

Good luck!

Kris

I'm so glad to know it helped! As far as scented or unscented, the ladies who told me about it (see the original thread about Bug Repellant) said it had to be scented. Like I mentioned then, we tried the scented on my 2 year old (in a pocket), and no more bites! I haven't tried the unscented, so I don't know otherwise. They said you could lightly skim it over your skin if you'd like, but that all they'd ever done was put a piece in their pocket.

I am so glad I found this thread-- we are leaving next week for a camping trip (not WDW:mad: though). Anyhow, we are going to have some infants and toddlers along-- and I hate the tought of using any DEET on them (even though the peditricians said we could as long as we followed their instructions they gave us).

I couldn't get the AP rate at the cabins yesterday, and can't pay the full price. So we're moving over to POR. I've never been there, but my overall reaction is "really pretty looking resort.....and the hotel room is just a hotel room, and a pretty plain looking one at that."

Sigh. Maybe next trip.

Kris

Ok. This morning I decided to slip some bounce sheets into DD4's uniform pockets. She comes home with mosquito bites every day! I didn't bother to mention it to her. When I picked her up this afternoon, I asked if she had gotten bitten by any mosquitoes today and she said yes. So I reached into her pockets & the bounce sheets were gone! She threw them away. I guess I should have mentioned it to her. So I explained that they were to keep the mosquitoes away and that we'd try again tomorrow.

Thanks so much for the tip! Not a big DEET fan, so this is great info....Do the bounce sheets do anything to keep away biting flies and "no seeums"?? That seems to be our biggest bug problem when we're camping at the beach.
TIA!
Beth

Well, I didn't have any bugs buggin' me....but I'm not sure exactly what it would ward off. The only thing that landed on me that I saw was a dragonfly, and he was welcome.

Good luck!

Kris

Do you think the dryer sheets would work for the deer flies you see at FW?? I got nailed this last June...

know if it has to be "Bounce" brand or will any dryer sheets work

Thanks Michelle
