Hi!

I just wanted to thank everyone who gave me advice re: HH. We just got back from our first trip, and we cannot WAIT to go back.

The resort was beyond beautiful, especially now with the azaleas blooming. Our children enjoyed the pool, the beach house, and the campfires, and became very fond of B'Lou Crabbe. My son loved biking through the resort paths and along Shelter Cove, and we all loved jogging and biking through Palmetto Dunes out to the beach. We all spent a LOT of time in the hammock! Our 2 BR in bldg. 18 had a great marsh view.

We had great meals; notable dinners included The Old Fort Pub, Marleys, Cafe Europa, Santa Fe, and the Jazz Corner (boy, Marlena Smalls has some voice!!!) The resort catered Easter dinner was delicious!

Our dolphin cruise was a blast, and Neil let both kids "drive." The view from Broad Creek and the sound is unmatched (I wonder who lives in the huge homes...I heard Michael Jordan has one.)

In all, it was fantastic. We simply fell in love with the place.

Thanks again to all of the experts who helped me out!

Thanks for the info. For whatever reason my wife and I had not made going to HH a high priority - but - based on this I will rethink that strategy.

Living in Atlanta, it is only a 4 hour drive over.

Is Vero just as nice? We were thinking of adding a day or two to our trip to check it out!

Glad to hear you had a great trip. HH is our home resort and we truly love it. Building 18 has the "best" view of the marsh in the resort. We were lucky enough to snag the GV in Building 18 for NYE in 2002.

"Y'all come back now, heah!"

Hi,

Glad you liked HH. Thanks for sharing!

Glad to hear you had such a great time, I agree it's a wonderful resort.

Vero is certainly as nice, in it's own way. IMHO Vero is better suited to a 2/3 day add on at the end of a WDW vacation. HH can really be counted as a "stand alone" destination and there is plenty to do in the area for most people to spend 5,6,7 or more days there without getting bored.

As you live just a few hours drive away I would say HH is an ideal destination for you to take a short break to.

Oh, Darn-now you've made me homesick! We absolutely love HH! Last trip the weather was lousy-rainy, windy, and cold all week and yet we still loved our trip! And I'm glad to finally see a positive comment on the Jazz Corner. We've always wanted to try it, especially since DS is a Jazz studies major, but couldn't find anyone who'd been there. Thanks!

Simba's mom, we were at the Jazz Corner last October and had a great time. The food was really good and the music was even better. I would definitely recommend going.

The Vero Beach resort is very nice. I do not personally think Vero Beach the area offers near what Hilton Head does in shopping, recreation and dining. I also much prefer the beach at Hilton Head than Vero even if it's not close by.

Just got back ourselves! Other than the insane traffic down last week we had a great time.

I was kind of afraid my kids wouldn't be impressed since we usually go to Disney and do the parks, but boy was I wrong! They liked it as well, if not better they said!

B'Lou Crabbe was a huge hit with our gang too! My 4 yo went up and told him she LOVED his music and he impressed them with all his magic tricks. CM's were great. Activities were lots of fun.

Oh and the room, sooo impressed. We were in bldg 23 w/our deck overlooking the pool. Guess a marsh view would have been more quiet, but we loved where we were:crazy:
