Hello to all!!
Well we just got back from the Western cruise and it was spectacular!!!
I was a little skeptical since reading the posts after the Magic came out of dry dock, but we were not at all disappointed! The rooms looked great. They still have some wear, but no more than would have been expected. The carpets looked great and still smelled new. The new tv was nice too!! I liked being able to pull it out and turn it around the privacy curtain while my 2 yr old slept. The Mickey pool did have a bit of green cast, but not so much that I wouldn't swim in it - and I'm really weird about stuff like that! The other pools looked great. They were having some issues with the slide and spent some time working on that. I think they were also having issues with the fountains, but we didn't spend much time there.
Had a little panic the day we left, Friday, cause my TA called to say that my mom's connecting room was still in the process of being fixed. Apparently they had some type of constructural issue and it wasn't ready yet. However, they got her in a room just down the hall, so that was just as well. They worked on that room a lot during the entire cruise. I had to call downstairs on the second night to ask that they stop drilling and hammering at 9:30 as my DD was asleep and there would have been hell to pay if someone would have woke her up!!!!
But they stopped, so I was happy.
We absolutely loved Key West!!! We just did the trolley tour. We booked it ourselves so we could get on and off the trolley when we wanted. It was VERY HOT and HUMID!!! Everywhere we went the air was stifling!! But we survived. We were ready for the day on the ship come Monday. It was nice to relax and let my DD play in the Oceaneer's Club. She is 2 months shy of 3, but since she was completely potty trained they let her in there to play and she did great!! We looked at Flounders but she was way beyond it. Even the counselors agreed that it wouldn't have held her interest.
Tuesday was Grand Cayman - hated it! We won't go there again. The fact that it rained all day didn't help matters. We did the bus tour. And that was ok. The turtle farm was cute. But all the tour guide could really keep talking about was how many rich celebrities and moguls had homes there and were building there. I really could care less about that. I didn't think their beaches were very nice either.
Wednesday was Cozumel. We did the snorkeling and clear kayak. That was awesome!! The kayaks are clear plexiglass type and we were able to see everything below us. I had never snorkeled before, so that was a good introduction for me. We had a really good time with that. And I loved Cozumel. We are considering going down there to stay sometime. There seemed to be lots to do, and everyone was very nice. As long as you can put up with the pushy vedors, you would have no problems.
The pirate party was Wed night and we were not at all impressed with it. The fireworks were nice, but too late. They needed to do the pirate night on one of our days at sea. I was ready to fall over by the time everything was done.
Thursday was another day at sea - much needed and relaxing. Friday was Castaway Cay. We had a blast and the weather was beautiful!!!
The shows were spectacular. The club had a graduation for the kids on Thurs and that was really special and my daughter loved it!! She wouldn't wear her T-shirt of grad cap, cause she had her pretty pink dress and crown on from seeing the princess' beforehand. But she decided to use the crowd and ran out in front of the stage and proceeded to dance for the crowd before a counselor scooped her up and put her on her lap!! It was adorable! Fortunately my DH got it all on video!!!
Please feel free to ask anything!!
