Just got back and VERY happy!

Ain't gonna happen. Why? Because those that are happy are too busy being happy. Misery loves company. You'll always remember the guy who shouted during the opera, not everyone else who enjoyed it.

Great to hear a positive experience, I just had a wonderful trip too and was beginning to wonder if I was the only one, no issues with the MB or FP+ some wonderful character interaction and photos to boot. I have to say that people must be getting more cynical or have over expectations from many of the negative comments both on the board and overheard at the park (especially concerning the gift shops, heck, it's not as if you are being forced to buy anything) I cannot wait to go back, it's always my happiest two weeks when I go, or perhaps I'm easily pleased, but, if you lived where I lived and what there is to do for someone like me then two weeks of fun, eating out, going to the movies and epic shopping is worth every penny I pay and when I get to the airport I am on holiday and I am determined to have the best time ever and leave my cynicism at home.

Sad but true.

I'm with you. Just got back myself and we had a great time. Do you have to tour a little differently with FP+? Yeah, you don't have to run all over collecting little pieces of paper telling you when to come back and ride. Instead, you plan a fun day around rides you always had to wait in the standby line to ride before.

Funny how some folks who have gone to WDW numerous times in the past hate how things have changed. Well, my family has been going to WDW numerous times and this was the most relaxing and enjoyable trip we've had. While I understand that everyone is entitled to their opinion, IMHO, life is too short to waste time writing a non informative whining and complaining post and I stop reading them once I see the whining and complaining start. However, I always appreciate when someone takes the time to provide constructive criticism which is helpful to me in planning future trips. And yes, there is a very notice difference between the two.

It's nice to read something positive for a change. The whining and complaining around here lately has been over the top. it's too crowded, the food sucks, the waits are too long, the magic has gone, yadda yadda yadda.

THE MAGIC ISNT IN DISNEY, THE MAGIC IS IN YOU!!!

Im so sick of reading how disney has somehow ruined everyone's trips. Your trip is what you make it, plain and simple. So what if you can't ride Soarin 5 times in one day? just be thankful you're there and getting to ride it at all. So much negativity all the time.

I really hope all these people start staying home and making more room for the people who are just grateful to be there.

I love the magic bands too. I loved being able to schedule FP+ ahead of time espcially day of arrival but found SB lines got longer quicker.

Most of the crowd at AK opening goes to Safari.

If you have an 8:05 ressie, its been awhile but they will let you in early with plenty of time to take pictures. We did our Christmas Card photos two years in a row that way.

This thread has a 50/50 shot of getting long. I'm sure no one is going to pile on the critiscm to the OP like the other thread. Unless they come over here to complain about people complaining too. See above.

Funny to read so much negativity in a positive thread. Glad you had a great trip.

MK seemed crowded in the afternoon, AK, Epcot and HS did not for the most part. HS at night on Sunday of Star Wars was more crowded but I never felt like it was awful like when we have gone in April.

TS did not seem busy at all. We sat at Chef Mickey's at 5:15 and when we left over an hour later all the tables still weren't full. H&V Star Wars meal was a madhouse though, but we knew that going in.

We stayed at Pop for the first time. It did not seem crowded there at all. The pool was never full and the food court was empty the few times we used it.

Wow...very interesting. It sounds like the first week of June is a good time to go to WDW. I bet the H&V Star Wars meal was a hoot!

@kmv

So, in general, did the parks seem crowded? Also, did the table service restaurants seem busy? How about your resort...did there seem to be a lot of guests?

It's Disney at the start of the high season...of course there are crowds.:rolleyes2 If you are going to worry about how crowded things are then perhaps WDW is not the place for you.

It's all in your attitude. If you go looking for issues and nitpicking everything, then problems will find you. If you go with an open mind, relax, and go with the flow you'll have a good time.:cool2:

Thank you for sharing your experience. It's nice to hear good reviews. We're looking forward to our vacation in 2 weeks. My sons are excited that their MBs open our hotel room door. It gives them a little more freedom to do things like refill their mugs, explore the resort, etc. while my husband and I get ready in the am.

Agreed, there are always crowds at Disney...but this trip wasn't as high as times I have been over Memorial Day weekend, July 4th and in April. However there has been less ppl in Sept, Oct, and Feb.

Sounds wonderful, reading these reviews really helps to make decisions on what and when. I am hoping our trip will be as positive as yours.

We have an 8:05 at CP and plan to get a picture before we go in hopefully.

Happy about SDMT because I am not a thrill seeker like my girls

By the way, what did you guys eat at BOG for lunch. We are waiting for July 8 to open up and I would like to go ahead and preorder

I would recommend the braised pork with the masters cupcake, soooo delicious. :cloud9:

KMV I'm glad to hear you had such a great trip and thank you for sharing. :thumbsup2

I've been to WDW many, many times and can only go in the summer. I'm not "worried" I was asking out of curiosity. I just like knowing what's going on down there. Our next trip will be exactly this time next year. I'm not worried...I'm excited!:dance3:

It was our first morning there, got there for RD. My almost 3 yr old DD and I rode Buzz and then went to the tea cups while my DH and 9 yr old DD went to Space Mt. We got into our tea cup and I started explaining how to move the wheel to my daughter and boom, I hear a voice say "Do you mind if I join you?" and it was Alice. She got in and rode with us, talking to my DD the whole time. There was even a photopass person there taking pics and scanned my band afterwards. She did go to her M&G spot from there. Anastasia, Drizella and Stepmom did the same, got on carousel, then went to M&G spot.

What a great picture!! We have been to the Magic Kingdom early in the morning and caught Alice and Tweedle Dee and Dumb heading onto the Teacups. I don't ride that one…too much spinning…but it is always adorable to see the looks on the little kids' faces that get asked to ride with the characters. What a fun Disney memory to have!!

I'm happy to see others looking forward to their upcoming trips. To be honest, we haven't seen THAT much difference in attendance levels since we started going. We've gone in early November. , mid February, middle of May and start of august. We've never seen waits less than 10-15 minutes for rides like POTC, HM or Jungle Cruise. I don't think 15-30 minute waits are that bad, heck waits are longer than that at our small city carnival when it comes to town.

We realize that our trips are what we make it. The recent negativity on this board lately is over the top. Some people just can't ever be happy, that's just what it boils down too.

Sounds like you had a good time :D I noticed on my last trip, as well, that people were getting in early for a lot of things. I guess once they start crowding around an entrance, they just let them in.

I'm also glad to hear that Fastpass and bands are working better. :)

That is precious. :goodvibes

It's moments like those that make me in general so positive about Disney parks. It's great that you got it in a photo. My girls have had countless experiences like this at Disney parks, but most of them only remain in our memories.

Thanks for the positive feedback! We go in 11 days, first time since 2012 so many changes....I am SO EXCITED and I love to see good things.

Our family just had an awesome vacation. The magic bands are the greatest things to come along since sliced bread. It made everything so easy! No separate key, tickets, fast passes, photopass, credit card, even your magical express tickets from the airport....everything is done with a swipe of your band.

As for the parks and FP+, our experience didn't change much, we still got to each park at rope drop and rode several rides in the first few hours. I still believe this is a must, as lines get longer around lunch time. Our first day there though, we actually counted and rode 17 rides from 8-3 (included a LONG lunch at BOG). We planned our FP+ right around lunch when the parks are crowded and normally went back to our hotel to swim and relax (we have 2 kids) and then went back out at night. We also saved two days of FP+ for night use and went to different parks for just a few hours at RD without having the need for FP+ and enjoyed them after dinner at a separate park.
Couldnt agree more about the Magic Bands! :goodvibes We just got back last week, and we loved them!!! I was one who was NOT happy about FP+, but found that we did pretty much everything we wanted, as many times as we wanted, so it worked out for us, too. We are RD people, and I think this absolutely helped. We're going back in September, so I'm looking forward to seeing how FP+ works when it's not as busy. Glad you had a great time!
