Just got back and VERY happy!

Soooo nice to hear a happy voice on the boards. Thanks for a great trip report!

Great to hear a positive experience, I just had a wonderful trip too and was beginning to wonder if I was the only one, no issues with the MB or FP+ some wonderful character interaction and photos to boot. I have to say that people must be getting more cynical or have over expectations from many of the negative comments both on the board and overheard at the park (especially concerning the gift shops, heck, it's not as if you are being forced to buy anything) I cannot wait to go back, it's always my happiest two weeks when I go, or perhaps I'm easily pleased, but, if you lived where I lived and what there is to do for someone like me then two weeks of fun, eating out, going to the movies and epic shopping is worth every penny I pay and when I get to the airport I am on holiday and I am determined to have the best time ever and leave my cynicism at home.

Really? The crowds are not running straight for EE anymore? Or was this a very low crowd day?

Oldest DS wants to do EE (makes me go too!) but 2 younger DS would be waiting for us, so am not sure when to try and plan it.

Actually I find that Safari is usually much more packed that EE. There are a lot of moms and grandparents who sit out EE, they just can't or don't want to ride it. And then of course, really small kids can't do it either. The waiting area around the ride is jam packed with onlookers waiting for their family to ride it.

This is a great advantage as I have a DS 14 who likes to sleep in I am going to try and do at least 1-2 RD and then do the afternoons with FP+ as he can't handle the commando behavior of me. Thanks for the trip update.

We went last week and found that right before closing is a good time to ride also. We did not do any rope drops but made our fastpasses starting around 11:00am and stayed until closing. We did pretty much everything that we planned to do. It does get hot in the middle of the day but making a sit down reservation and going to some shows with air conditioning helps.

I've always been able to ride EE multiple times in the morning and within the last hour of the day. I've ridden it 6 times in one day. My Ds and Dw did it about 10 times. I felt sick and stopped.

Same here. On our last trip in 2012 (Sept), my family (6 of us) rode 3 times in the AM and 2 in the PM before park closing in one day. It was nice :thumbsup2 No FPs necessary.

Thanks for posting a positive experience! We also LOVED the new FP system when we were there over Easter. We did so many rides that we normally couldn't do because the paper FP's sold out so quickly for rides like Soarin' and Toy Story. Now, with the new system, we are assured to hit every single ride we love! And at the times we love too! We loved our Easter trip so much that we are going back again for July 4 week.:thumbsup2

Love seeing a positive thread like this. Now if we could keep this thread alive even a quarter as long as the "Just got back and not happy" guy, that would be great! :)

Ain't gonna happen. Why? Because those that are happy are too busy being happy. Misery loves company. You'll always remember the guy who shouted during the opera, not everyone else who enjoyed it.

Me and DD were there in 2008 and I think it may of been evening EMH but we rode it 12 times in a row with no wait the park was almost a ghost town very few people there.........oh those were the days.........but unfortunately I had to stop also because my vertigo finally kicked in:laughing:

OP thanks for the great review glad you had a wonderful trip with such special moments for you all to remember!

So glad you had a wonderful vacation :goodvibes Thank you for posting your positive experience!

@kmv

So, in general, did the parks seem crowded? Also, did the table service restaurants seem busy? How about your resort...did there seem to be a lot of guests?

Thanks so much for the positive report! 2 years ago we took part in a FP+ test and we loved it. We are looking forward to the new system as well as magic bands when we go back in September! We ate lunch at BOG last time and are hoping to go again.

Alice rode the tea cups with my daughter and I our first morning there and Anastasia rode the merry go round with us the last day there.

Just curious as to how this happened. Was Alice doing M&G and then just asked her if she wanted to ride?

I'm with you. Just got back myself and we had a great time. Do you have to tour a little differently with FP+? Yeah, you don't have to run all over collecting little pieces of paper telling you when to come back and ride. Instead, you plan a fun day around rides you always had to wait in the standby line to ride before.

Funny how some folks who have gone to WDW numerous times in the past hate how things have changed. Well, my family has been going to WDW numerous times and this was the most relaxing and enjoyable trip we've had. While I understand that everyone is entitled to their opinion, IMHO, life is too short to waste time writing a non informative whining and complaining post and I stop reading them once I see the whining and complaining start. However, I always appreciate when someone takes the time to provide constructive criticism which is helpful to me in planning future trips. And yes, there is a very notice difference between the two.

It's nice to read something positive for a change. The whining and complaining around here lately has been over the top. it's too crowded, the food sucks, the waits are too long, the magic has gone, yadda yadda yadda.

THE MAGIC ISNT IN DISNEY, THE MAGIC IS IN YOU!!!

Im so sick of reading how disney has somehow ruined everyone's trips. Your trip is what you make it, plain and simple. So what if you can't ride Soarin 5 times in one day? just be thankful you're there and getting to ride it at all. So much negativity all the time.

I really hope all these people start staying home and making more room for the people who are just grateful to be there.

Very refreshing to read this report. We leave for our trip in one week and it will be our first time with FP+. As much of a pro as I had become with the old FP system, I'm looking forward to the upsides of the new system.

Glad you had a great trip and very glad you posted this thread!

So true. I'm new to the board and I love to read happy reports from posters who had a great time or are anticipating having a great time. I know I'm going to have the BEST time!

MK seemed crowded in the afternoon, AK, Epcot and HS did not for the most part. HS at night on Sunday of Star Wars was more crowded but I never felt like it was awful like when we have gone in April.

TS did not seem busy at all. We sat at Chef Mickey's at 5:15 and when we left over an hour later all the tables still weren't full. H&V Star Wars meal was a madhouse though, but we knew that going in.

We stayed at Pop for the first time. It did not seem crowded there at all. The pool was never full and the food court was empty the few times we used it.

Just curious as to how this happened. Was Alice doing M&G and then just asked her if she wanted to ride?

It was our first morning there, got there for RD. My almost 3 yr old DD and I rode Buzz and then went to the tea cups while my DH and 9 yr old DD went to Space Mt. We got into our tea cup and I started explaining how to move the wheel to my daughter and boom, I hear a voice say "Do you mind if I join you?" and it was Alice. She got in and rode with us, talking to my DD the whole time. There was even a photopass person there taking pics and scanned my band afterwards. She did go to her M&G spot from there. Anastasia, Drizella and Stepmom did the same, got on carousel, then went to M&G spot.
