We just got back from 6 nights at the Candy Cane.

-The crowds were there on the weekend but during the week we didn’t wait more than 10 minutes for anything except Splash Mountain and Indiana Jones.

-Still love Fast Pass and don’t understand why everyone doesn’t take advantage of this.

-It amazes me that people still grab a spot 4 hours before Fantasmic ;)

-Did Disneyland run out of Dreams? We were there in late 2006 and saw many Dreams (Hats and Fastpasses) but I can count on one hand the number I saw over the entire 6 days.

-I heard lots of rumors about the future of California Adventure including a name change. I’ll write more about this later.

-I highly recommend the single rider for Toy Story Mania. We did this a few times, walked right on and were always seated together.

-Observed an interesting exchange of words when a Woman and 2 girls I would guess were 12-13 entered and the girls had child passes (3-9). The CM at the gate first told them they had the ‘wrong’ tickets and she needed their ‘adult’ ticket. They proceeded to tell her they were under 9. The CM (and everyone else) didn’t believe them, made a few comments like “I guess you are claiming to be under 9 too?” but in the end, she let them in. Don’t want to start a debate on this but it was interesting to watch. The CM did not have on her ‘Disney Face’ during the exchange. ;) The girls appeared very embarrassed and my 13 year old said “Mom, please don’t ever do that to me”.

We had a great time but are tired and it’s going to take my feet a few weeks to recover. ;)

Let me know if you have any other questions!

I had read that DCA would be changing names over the years, as the park transforms its theme internally. But I have not heard any real information about what the new name might be. We have tossed around ideas here on the Board about it, but we don't have facts. Did you hear what the name might be?

Nope :( I tried to get that out of the CM but I don't really think she knew.

I love reading that the crowds were light! We will be there mid-week next week! We are also staying at the CCI. Any comments about the Inn?

Glad you had a great time...though I would also be struck by that CM convo you overheard as well! Odd!

Glad you had a great time!

Wow I can't believe people would try to pass off 13 year olds for under 9. How ridiculous! My son is tall for his age, so I would always worry when he was 8 or 9 if they would believe me. I can't imagine trying ot pass him off in a few years. I guess there isn't much a CM can do, since people don't have to prove ages though. Just crazy though, that people would be THAT cheap!

I also get amazed at the way people wait to see F! They waste so many hours that they could be on the rides or doing ANYTHING for that matter. We always go to the second showing because of that. I just can't see waiting more then an hour or so for anything!

How was the Candy Cane? We're thinking of staying there and the more info I can get on it the happier I will be! :thumbsup2

DH and I stayed there last December and were treated very well. We had the deluxe room with the breakfast served to your room. We would do it again in a heartbeat but for our September trip I have booked HO Jo's on the Entertainment rate as we will be saving big time. if it were not that our dates coincide with the special rate at HO JO's we would probably be back at Candy cane. It was clean, comfortable, very nice people. They even drove us one night to the GC for dinner. I thought that was above and beyond. I have told our kids to go to candy cane, that is how nice it is.

Welcome back Kelsie, glad you had a good time. Can't wait to read more.
