Just Got Back 4/21-Food & Trip Review Here

Lunch at Tusker House

We did not have any ADRs for this one- I walked up around 10:00 am and asked about an opening for lunch-they had one at 2:00 pm

I highly recommend this place! It is a buffet, no characters at lunch.

It has a carving station with roast beef and pork plus corn dog nuggets, chicken wings, pb&j, regular salads, great desserts plus different tastes of African foods.

It was wonderful to pick and choose-chutneys, hummus this absolutely wonderful orzo with basil and olives.

A very light spicy seafood stew/soup with mussels, shrimps, fish and scallops. Different kinds of breads with regular corn bread plus corn bread with pieces of corn, grains and even a chocolate bread that hints of sweetness.

Lots of dips and sauces to try some zingy some sweet.

The buffet is spread out so nobody gets on top of each other and the restaurant itself is huge.

Our waiter did some magic tricks for the kids and encouraged them to try some foods with good descriptions of tastes for them.

It is cheaper to eat at lunch and I can't believe they have more choices.

It is not only for the foodie in your group-anybody can find something to like here.

Very spacious and well lit. And very nice CM's

Lunch at Flame Tree BBQ in Animal Kingdon

I heard various good and bad things about this place.

I thought it was very good. I had the ribs lunch-the ribs were good not too greasy not too fatty but they did have fat on them which to me is just fine for ribs!
The beans were bad though they weren't cooked through and were hard. The corn bread was very yummy like a corn bread muffin actually but no butter for it that I could find. They have condiments that include BBQ sauce.

The other adults had the turkey sandwich that looked good-she said it had a good deal of turkey and liked it a lot.
The other person had the bbq sandwich which he didn't like and gave it to the kids who loved it. They in turn gave him their chicken wings! Which he adored. Go figure.

We had those frozen lemonade things that were like mush. I had a frozen slush lemonade that was not packaged in AK and loved it but these packaged ones are not that great at all.

I would eat there again but only if it is cool weather which we had. The seating is ample and pretty but outside.

Breakfast at AK Pizzafari

They had some good breakfast selections like biscuits and gravy, breakfast pizza (eggs & cheese on pizza dough), a breakfast platter including eggs, bacon, biscuit and hashbrowns.

With the DPP they let you get 2 drinks since you don't have a dessert. So we got an oj and a water.

For those of you who may need it-there was guy who bought a beer at 10:00 am (!)

I had the biscuits and gravy plus a sausage patty. It was pretty good but not great-bland gravy.

The breakfast pizza someone else had was great-they had to wait for it to be made since they were told that the restaurant can't judge how many to make ahead of time. I dont get it but it makes for fresher hotter breakfast pizza!

The breakfast platter was the best though. The hash browns were delicious.

I am very bummed we never got the popcorn or the Dole Whip! But time just flew by! Next time!

Almost forgot

Cosmic Rays at the Pirate and Princess Party

They were horrible! The only bay open was the burgers nothing else. They were a mess-The burgers were cold and they took forever!

Thats it for the food folks-Be happy to answer any questions

I forgot Morocco!

We had dinner at the cafe not the tableservice. It was mobbed just before Illuminations.

It was very good actually-2 of us had the lamb platter-great hummus, great sauce-the tabouleh wasn't that great it was primarily parsely (which I understand it ok) but we didn't care for it.

We got a side of marinated olives which were delish.

The kids got cheeseburgers-yes they do have cheese and will put cheese on the burgers even though the menu says ony "hamburger". They were very good since they are grilled to order.

The baklavah was fabulously wonderful!!!!

We also got some eclairs from France bakery and I thought they were only so so- They had chocolate cream inside instead of the usual vanilla but they were kind of tasteless but expensive!

We ran out of snack credits before CS because we would eat so much at the TS!!!!

I wish that we had eaten here. We had planned to eat lunch here on our last day, but we ended up going over to MK and eating at Casey's. This is absolutely on my list of CS to try next time! I'll have to try those marinated olives. Just the sound of it makes my mouth water.

Thanks for reading them- I wish I had remembered to take pics but we were so into the characters.

I am so glad we addeds Tusker House at the last minute (literally!) it was so good.

I'm actually surprised that you didn't like Cosmic Rays...it's one of my favorites! I've never had anything cold or sloppy...in fact, its always really good...maybe it was a bad time of day? :confused3

I had Cosmic Rays at around 10:30 pm at the P&PP and only the burger bay was open.

They were completely disorganized, had to wait a long time, they mixed up people's orders.

Fries were hot and good but the burgers were obviously made way ahead of time so they could close quickly after the party.

In fact I went to the fixins bar and they had shut it down at 11:00 but the party and food is supposed to go on till midnight.

If I go back I will try it again. But it was a supreme bummer this time!

Thanks so much for your reviews!! Made me even more excited to try a lot of the places!!

Next time I promise to take pictures!
