Just got AKL Club have a few ?'s

OK so im so excited i just booked club at AKL and im not sure what all that intails but i kept walking by that locked gate when i was there in 2010 and now like a little kid i had to book it so i can get into the gate. I do know that there is a lounge but what else?

You also get daily housekeeping and nightly turn down service and they offer trip planning/reservation services before and during your trip. I believe you have to be staying concierge to book one of the safaris but can't remember which one.

As long as you are staying either the night before or the day of, you can book the Sunrise Safari.

I rented points for this trip and i know from pass trips i couldnt do anything with the ressie till ten days out is this the same? and how do i request a Sav view or cant i? I just got so excited i didnt think about this before plus i thought i read that all club level are Sav view now i think i may have read it wrong.

Since you rented these points the DVC member is in control of everything until you check-in. DVC members can do online check-in starting 10 days out from their trip but it basically just allows the front desk to go ahead and print out your room keys, take credit card information, etc so your check-in time will hopefully be shorter.

There are some AKV concierge rooms that overlook the pool and you aren't guaranteed a savanna view with the concierge units. I've heard the savanna view from those units isn't that great anyway since you are pretty far away on the upper floor and the roof overhangs above the balcony obscurring the view somewhat.

Regardless of which unit you end up with you should have a great time. Good luck!

There are only 5 2-bedroom lock-offs that make up Concierge Level. Three face the Sunset Savanna and the other two face the Uzima Pool.

Since there is a seperate check-in desk for Concierge, there's no need to do the online check-in. There usually isn't more than a few people checking in at the same time in Concierge. The sunrise safari is a must do if your dates line up. Also you can give your requested dining reservations ahead of the 180 day window to the concierge planning folks (through the person you rented through) and they will make your dining reservations for you. Be sure to give them second choices in case they can't get your first choice.

Just to clarify... they will make them at the 180 day mark for you. (you don't get a jump on the other folks, but you don't have to hold on the phone either).

I think you can make your dining reservations at the 180 day mark on line using your confirmation number and don't need the member to do this. I don't remember them asking for anything except the reservation number when I made mine the last time.

Thank you so much for all of the info. This is great! I stayed at AKL in March of 2010 and we had a 1bdrm value and it was a pool view and i loved it. My sister had a 2bdrm value and she did get a Savanna view and it was cool and we were all on the 5th floor. So as the OP said ill be happy ether way. And for me i think i would like to do my own ressie's for dining and shows that way if i cant get a time i want i can try to work around another time.
