Just got a reservation for VWL in Jan (2BR)-WooHoo! Any suggestions?

Just got a ressie for a 2 BR for 1/14/10-1/18/10 at VWL. This will be our first time at this resort, as SSR & AKV are our home resorts. Any suggestions on dining? room views? Basically anything that will help us out for the trip. Thanks in advance! So excited already! 191 days & counting!!!

For fancy dining, Artist Point can't be beat. I'd recommend one of the 'atrium' dedicated two bedrooms.

WildernessDad.....do the "atrium" 2 bedrooms face the lake & pool? We are taking little ones & want to be able to see the electric water parade. Thanks for the info!

You're welcome! I don't know that any room offers good views of the lake and EWP, as there are far too many trees blocking a clear view. However, the beach--and beach chairs--are right behind the Villas, maybe a 2-3 minute walk from your room. From there, you'll have a great view of the parade.

You've probably heard about Whispering Canyon Cafe, and many folks rave about it. It's located off the main lobby and features boisterous servers, stick horse races, and the like. Depending on the age and temperament of your children, they might like WCC. Depending with whom you speak, the food ranges from mediocre to very good (I'm in the former camp), and not every server is up to the fun--some can be quite glum. However, it certainly is a dining experience to consider.

We stayed in a dedicated 2 bedroom in January. We were on the 5th. floor facing the lake. We were the second from last room on the floor. It was a little far, but it was very quiet. From our balcony from the living room there was a break in the trees and you could see the Electrical water parade at nite. It was very cold in Jan this past year, so we could look out on it from our balcony and not have to brave the cold. One nite DD and I went to the chairs down by the lake and watched it, but we did have a good view from our room. We loved VWL. It is so cozy and comfy. Have a great time.
